I need a U-joint for my 95 Nissan 240SX SE. The joint that connects the driveshaft to the differential. I purchased Part # 10430 from AutoZone and it didn't fit, it was too small. Now my car sits at the mechanics. I've searched everywhere Kragen, Napa, Carquest and nobody has it. Please somebody tell me what part # I need. Is there another car that is compatable or do I have to take the old U-joint to Napa and have them find me the correct dimensions? More than appreciate the help, Thank you very much.

It also seems like everybody only sells the complete driveshaft w/ the U-Joint already installed. The going price is $600 for the driveshaft. All I need is a $20 part, and I can't get it. I could go to a junkyard and purchase a used driveshaft w/ U-Joint but I would still be purchasing a used part and I wouldn't know how long that would last me. Any suggestions on where I could score this part. I'm willing to pay double the suggested retail price. Thanks for the help. JC

yeah you'll find the driveshaft complete for the most part. you could try calling a dealer and see if they've got the joint separate. another option might be looking for just a complete driveshaft.

the u joints are pressed in so its much simpler to replace drive shaft. $45-$60 bucks at a salvage yard.

Dealers only sell the complete driveshaft for $600. I measured the U-joint and tried to match it up from another vehicle. No luck. I don't want to purchase a used driveshaft with old U-joints. Neapco's (manufacture of U-joints) measurements are wrong for all 240SX's. I was referred to a Driveshaft shop here in Palm Springs. All I did was show the technician the U-joint and he knew the U-joint was from a Nissan and advised me that my part didn't exist. Apparently alot of Nissan's and Toyota's don't sell individual U-joints. The technician made me a custom alumunim drive-shaft with Yokes and U-joints from a Chevy 1/2 ton truck. Bigger, stronger and lighter for $400. I hope I didn't get ripped off. At least I no longer have a center balancer bearing with no flex. I'm pissed off because nobody on the forums or auto parts stores could tell me whether if the individual U-joints were accessible. Hasn't anybody had this problem before? WTF!

yea, some others say it was a non-serviceable part already...

& went to either the salvage yards for a quick replacement, or custom steel driveshaft w/ replaceable joints or those aluminum single piece driveshafts w/ replaceable joints...

haven't been on for a while since i'm on fedex driver training w/ the smith system... but i saw a few already stated this...
