That was Duy's car, he sold it after he made a 10 second run, and then by all accounts it blew up shortly after being purchased by the new owner. : ) This must be the new owner reselling it again.

I don't think i'd feel right spending 13k+ on a car that I know has been beat on many many times, and has had at least 2 previous owners with it being a beast like that.

for 13k.. damn.. I could make my car totally sweet

and that much power is too much IMHO.. for any kind of normal driving you would have to turn the boost way down, especially having to spool up that huge a** turbo.. blah.. especially for someone like myself in Florida, where it rains so damn much... rain and rwd and high HP don't mix well

but hey, if someone wants to do nothing but drag race.. go for it

although I did see a 1000hp STREETable supra in a magazine.. forgot which one it is though.here is a link to it

yea that was Duys old 240 then he traded for an 2000 Civic Si to someone in Dallas. We were there when he made (not Duy but Jason was the driver) that 10 sec pass in Ennis,Tx at Drag Wars.I believe it was something like 27-30psi and a 100 shot.Unbeliveable.

That car is very STREETable. Duy took it street racing the next day after the 10.83 was made.

He drove it all the time on the STREET with no problems.

If you are loyal to your car, 13 k is peanuts, I was reading an article in a magazine about a guy who pent 25,000 poundson a Nova, the ones that look like a chevette. Thats close to 50,000. If your gonna keep the car then who cares how much you spend on it. :squint

1000 horsepower...gear that baby for top speed. : ) Hehe, I wouldn't have any problem going 300mph in a car, on a bike, anything above like 30 is scary, but a car, plane, or jumping out of a plane, no problem. : ) I don't like sport bikes for some reason though.

I thinked I pissed my pants watching those videos....

Then I crapped my pants watching the panels for his guages detach from the dash on third gear (or 4th? I dont remember which one is was).

Then I sat there in my doo doo for the next 10 minutes with my jaw dropped recovering from shock.

:pThat is one faaaaast car.

you would have to have so much down force to go 300 :P

I saw a video of an RX7 out in bonneville that was going uh... quick.. and then the front end just lifted right off the ground then the car just took off, like 10-20 feet in the air.. then continued to flip/roll/get airborne for the remainder of the time it took the car to slow down from 160mph+ (160 is when if there is enough lift, you could take off

I also read once in a crazy UK sportbike magazine (they really are crazy), about a lil' shifter cart that went 200mph

now that is nuts.

I know this is an old thread that was recently reborn, but I hate to see misinformation and let it slide. 160 is NOT the minimum speed to achieve lift. I know of several aircraft that take off at just over 70mph land speed. They also weigh a good chunk more than a 240.
