Sometimes going wider also enhances the outward geometry of the wheelprotecting protrusion . I had Continentals DWS and my Michelin sport 4's now are adequate . Maybe just try to Look if not shop on Tirerack , as they have accurate pictures of all their Brands , of each tire in each brand ,ya know ? You may be able to narrow down / pick a winner that way ? In addition to more nicoclub experiences and opinions.

Browsing tire dealers , and like me , I'll notice and check out sharp looking cars - especially their 'cool' tires - and you may just see something on your own . Another great place is high end & sports car dealerships (tons near me!) they'll usually have SICK wheels and tires on show!!

I noticed that the Pirelli Pzero's that I bought from 4wheelonline have good rim protection. Aside from that, they have excellent traction on dry and wet roads although they seem to wear a bit fast.

I always go wide enough to have some sidewall bulge. As long as the OD remains the same, you're good.

Normally, you can go wider section width and shorter sidewall, but if the stock size is 275/60R20 (roughly 33" OD), anything wider / lower will be hard to find.

In that case, you could go with a wheel guard product... See the following articles:
