right, to start:
vehicle: 1997 s14a 240sx se, no leather;; SILVERMOSS
motor: kouki S14 SR20det;; confirmed
trans: SR20 5-speed
wiring: "brandnew" Kouki harness from west covina, chopped to shiz but its whatev.
ecu: NA black labeled KOUKI ecu, from CARRISMA motors in ORlando, thanks guys
maf: KA24E soldered right in
aside from full 2.5" straight pipe BRM exhaust and after market pulley the motor is stock
-fmic
-turbo manni
-nismo therm.
troubles:
1-runs pig-rich
2-wont break 5,500revs
3-pours fuel smell out of the tail pipe, the smell came from the oil fill on the valve cover, oil/fuel seeping from the oil pan, and dipstick is def petroled'd out.
4-i hear a fluttering in the hotpipe, the bov is located 4-6 inches from the throttlebody [ive read its better on the cold side] and the cold pipe is also re-circulated.
after cracking a S14 SR fsm, thanks guys, and trolling all over nico, zilvia, freshalloy, and frsports tutorials ive come up with these solutions:
1- kae maf runs higher volts then the sr maf, so this confuses my kouki ecu into dumping fuel to control the air/fuel mixture. but there isnt the same amount of air ACTUALLY flowing into the motor. SO, i am thinking of using a potentiometer/variable resistor from radioshack to cut the volts going from the signal wire[white] to the ecu.
2-the corrected air/fuel mixture should stop the SR from choking on itself
3-change oil, change plugs, seafoam.
4-
so any additional info, or tips tricks would be appriciated
