Hey, recentley installed a Kaaz two way into my s13. Installed it all with my cousin in our shop. Broke it in properly, and then changed out the oil with more Kaaz oil. Question though. I know Kaaz reccomends using their oil. But at $ 50 a pop. That can be a bit pricey. Has anyone used any other types of LSD oils in their cars. Does it really matter as long as it's a decent oil? Just curious.

you paid close to a grand for a LSD you should just put in the $50 oil, how often do you change diff oil anyway, do it right the first time.

how good can the kaaz oil be, i thought redline was the absoluet best, it uses that super hypoid gear oil, i use the 75W/90 gear oil from redline and it feels very nice, i use it in my diff and in my transmission..its like 7-10 bux per bottle, and u need 3 bottles for the diff i think, maybe 2, and like 4 for the transmission, change it every 10-2000 miles??

if im remember correctly the kaaz oil is mostly to combat clutch plate chatter inside the diff. it should work fine with regular gear oil. i would buy the kaaz oil though.

shiftdown: dont use hypoid gear oil in a m/t. a gl-5 hypoid gear oil has sulphur compounds that eat up synchros. a gl-4 hypoid gear oil is ok. better yet, get some redline mt90. that stuff is made for m/t's. thats what i use and its excellent. if you dont believe me about the gl-5 oils, look in your service manual or owners manual. it recommends gl-4 gear oil.
