can anyone help me figure out what this part is and if I need it for my new 180sx tail lights? it didn't come with the kit I got but I've seen a few websites selling it:

That is the rear body panel and it is not required to do the conversion. The rear body panels for the us and jdm cars are exactly the same. That rear body panel also has to be welded in and its a lot of work that is not necessary. Do not buy. The only metal part required is the filler panel that goes between the bumper and the taillights, but most places sell that with the kit.

Ok, so basicly these places selling this piece are trying to squeeze a few bucks outta some suckers.
