Type-X SR20DET?

ok i have a quick question and yes i did search. When i got my swap from the sr20store marcos told me i got a Type-X SR20DET blacktop my question is how do you tell the diffrence between a 13 blacktop and a Type-X SR20DET black top. i belive something in the intake manifold is diffrent not sure though.

Blacktop s13 motor is a blacktop s13 motor...there were no special edition ones or altered intake manifolds for a type-x. I believe all late model 180sx's w/ sr's were type-x's anyway. Either way, no difference.

ecu is different. so is the harness. the ecu has no little to pull codes, instead it sends it to the type x cluster.

what about the sileighty black tops?doesnt it come with a t28 and nismo cams?

Sileighty's aren't production cars and nobody really knows what they came with "stock".

But the motors are the same and that was the question.

yeah i get the motors are the same but how can you tell because i am planing to buy a power fc and on p2m website it asks what sr you have.

so wat just giving him some info he might not know

as for the power fc i dont think u need to tell them u have a type X motor just that it is a s13 blacktop. im not sure since im not familiar with power fc's so dont quote me.

There are 2 different blacktop S13 SR's. You need to know whether you have an early or late model blacktop to know which power FC to buy. The later model ECU would be J4, earlier model blacktop is the more common E5.

It is dependant on the ecu you have.
