I have searched and searched and thought to myself over and over again, that's it! When reading certain threads about someone else's problems with there SR that were similar to mine. It's been over a year,

MOTOR + MODS:S13 Sr20 Blk Top ( late model kouki ) Type-Xstock motor rebuild w/ cometic gasket + studsSR20 MAF -EDITFMIC + Greddy rs bov RecirculatedMegan mani.3'' backT-25 garrett + SS hosesAirinxNismo FPR + Walbro

Replaced Sensors + Others:TPSIACVKnock SensorWire harnessO2CoolantECUInjectors rebuilt Here's what it went through:When finished it had an apexi neo and z32 maf with no tune. Tore it out, replaced with new harness ka Maf. Ran a lil better.

Here's how she runs:-Sluggish acceleration, it was better to slowly accelerate to go faster.-Holds idle pretty well IMO, idle was bad a long time ago.-According to the crappy air/fuel gauge I'm running super rich at WOT-At 5000k rpms it sounds like a monster and seems to not be picking up speed until I shift

I've trippled checked the vacum hoses, set tps, and had 2 different sr owners set timing. I need to pull the motor and replace a water hose pronto before I do any more work. However a new clutch, flywheel will be in that deal too. I know there's stuff I have missed in this so far, but is there some ideas I can write down on my list to start working on before I purchase another motor.I almost want to buy just a plain blk top and swap out all my parts.

As I said I know I missed stuff in this and will update everyday as whats happening. Thanx goes out to all help and I'm thinking about a lil paypal donation to the winner! BTW- can this be as simple as a clutch? my friend is betting me it is.

what did u set the FPR to- do you have kink in your fuel return line? or it could be as simple as your spark plugs are gapped to far apart so your blowing out a flame at boost- the maf could be gone also

I thought the type-x had a different TPS sensor than the regular S13 red/black tops?

What ECU did you replace with? J4/5?

Also, did the type-x receive the same MAF as the red/black tops? I know the S15 received a different MAF, but as far as S14s and Type-Xes, I'm not certain on if they're similar/different

I was under the same impression about the tps. Ordered from one of our sponsers and they said it was the same as the S14.

J4 ECU (97-98 late model S13)

Thats a good question about the Maf! I don't know. I'm going to order a sr maf now tho! The type-x shares some of the s14 sensors, and pinned differently at the ecu. Someone told me different pistons, but same hp as a regular red/blk top with worse gas mileage.

I would think the bottom end would be the same since Nissan didn't redesign the pistons during the SR reign.

I'll see what I can dig up about the MAF. I have a really knowledgable friend who knows all that kind of stuff off the top of his head.

Hijacker- did you happen to find anything else out about the type-x from your friend?

Update- changing plugs today, set timing again, replace fuel hoses

I personally didn't think it was hard. I did buy a new harness from a s13 and had to repin the ecu harness. I have a write up on what I did somewhere.

Are you using the harness it came with or are you getting a regular s13 wire harness?

Here's what I went through:zerothread?id=298242This one has the best pinout chart for the J4 ecu thanks to speedracerhttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=297604

Let me know if you need any help-- GL!

btw- I'm talking only about the half a$$ed mechanics that are basically ruining your stuff...
