I have had a set of these (first link) on my front bumper (second link) for a few years now. To pass inspection, I had made a wiring harness and hooked up the stock s13 pignose signal/driving lights in the two outside slots and wired the bumper lights as additional signals.

I am wondering if there is a way to wire up the bumper lights to be both signals and driving lights so I can toss my unattractive pignose signal lights.

I ran a quick 5 minute search and didn't stumble upon anything. Any help would be great.

Well of course, you can wire it however you want. There's a hundred ways you could accomplish that. I think what you're talking about is the same way it came from the factory. The front lights are both running lights, and turn signals. So follow the original wiring diagram.

100 ways? And I can't think of one? This is embarrassing. I'm going to need a little more direction than "the original wiring diagram" for this one.

To rephrase my question, I need a bulb such as an 1156 or 1157 to magically fit into the housing of the light or need to know which bulb to buy that will fit and how to alter the wiring... again.

Anyone? I would really appreciate some input so I don't have to install factory lights to stay legal.

Inspection time! Time to put some life back in this thread. Is there any way around this or am I going to have to figure out how to mount the stock marker lights somewhere?

Dude... stock pignose lights are both signal and driving lights. Cut the wires, and find a bulb with the exact same characteristics as the old one except for the new one needs to be smaller to fit inside the hole for the new housing. Wiring up some lights is not rocket science, ESPECIALLY when all the wiring you need is right there.

Edit: Grab the FSM and look at the wiring diagrams in the back. If you haven't looked at those I can understand why you're having trouble. There are 3 wires that connect to the bulb if I remember correctly, running power, signal power, and ground.

That's the problem, I can't find a bulb small enough to fit into the kouki light hence the massive wiring harness I have. When originally installed, the koukis were extra lights in addition to the pignose so it wasn't an issue. Pignose is three, that is correct. Kouki is two. I currently have my turn signals running to them and have no running lights.

Ah, okay. So you're mostly having problems finding a bulb... not the wiring. How about this, you keep the bulb you have now and wire it like this. But instead of wiring side markers, you are wiring your type x lights.

I just woke up, so my brain is a little fuzzy. After like five minutes of deep problem solving, I think it will work haha. I wired my side markers like that and they are both running lights and turn signals.

Sorry I didn't come up with that idea back in April haha. Good luck, let us know how it goes.
