Type of springs for convertible

Assuming I understand the term "progressive spring" then would a progressive be better for a convertible to help reduce the amount of immediate shock the weaker chassis takes when encountering a bump? So for me would something like the progressive Tein springs be better than the Suspension tec. ones?
