What type of engine does the 00-01 max have?

3.0L V6 DOHC 24-valves (VQ30DE)--- 222hp @ 6400--- 217lb-ft torque @ 4000

The 2001 Anniversary Edition was upgraded to 227hp

THANKS FOR THE INFO, DO YOU KNOW ALL OF THE THINGS YOU CAN DO TO THAT MOTOR?HEADERS, CHIP, CAMS,ETC...

There are numerous upgrades available. For the engine, you can install Y-pipes, B-pipes, cat-backs, free-flow cats, and numerous intakes are on the market. I'm sure there are ECU updates, but I have not heard any major praise on them. Headers are not available on the 00-01 3.0 at this time. You can install nitrous oxide kits, Stillen makes a supercharger, and there have been some backyard turbo kits added. Other are experimenting with utilizing the 3.5L crank to make a stroker engine as well.
