Can you move the plunger by hand?

I have a Type-H non RFL and never had problems with it not working.

I had mine working on my ca18et(same displacement, smaller turbo) just fine.

Your vacuum source may not be strong enough. I had mine connected to a vacuum line that wasn't large enough and it wouldn't blow off.

I tee'd it with my brake booster and there weren't any problems. I even had to add 2 shimms because it would open and close idle.

it'll be on my ca18det this weekend, so I'll know for sure if it's working or not then.

if its not on too tight maybe the spring inside is just too much for your application.. which i believe is what happen with my blitz bov, but then i actually tried the rfl my friend had from the same vacuum source and everythin and it worked just fine.. so could be that

txs leaks around 20psi dude

rfl's suck on anything with high boost, you should be fine with anything under 16-17psi..... around 18psi txs rfl's are KNOWN to leak around the valve

Well, I dunno, he said he had an RFL, and it was rfl, and his boost gauge was going past 20.

ive got this cheap bov on just because it came with the IC pipes and wouldnt blow off. i took off the top to see the spring and they had 2 springs in there, i guess it came with a low and a high and they put both in. maybe its something on the inside, check it out most bov's are pretty simple.

I never said it acted like a wastegate that completely shut the boost off.... you'll still boost whatever you want your turbo is just going to work harder and you'll run a bit rich..... cause you're losin air through the BOV

Search for txs rfl on nasioc.com , you'll see it has pretty bad reviews when it comes to a high-boosted subaru.... most people who use them are running stock boost.
