Any1 found this type of plug wrench? I am trying to change out the 6 plug by the firewall but the FSM suggested to use this type for the number 6 plug.
Any tip or tricks would be helpfull.
Thanks!

I just used a regular spark plug socket. I've got 1 of the ones with the rubber plug in the back that "latches" on to the back of the spark plug to help remove it. Didn't need anything special or exotic :gotme

Did you try the 2 spark plug wrenches under your seat, that Nissan designed and provided just for this task?

One of the wrenches is for plugs 1-5, there's a seperate wrench for plug 6.

You have a third generation truck. The second generation #6 plug has an evil reputation and usually requires the Nissan wrench, which SHOULD be under the seat with the spare tire tools.

I called my local-ish infiniti dealership, they had no idea what I was talking about. I tried emailing them a link to a picture, no response. You're gonna have to end up using a regular spark plug tool and hope it pulls through or buy one off one of these guys on the forums if anyone has one for sale. I'm coming to the point where I might have to change mine out as well just for preventative maintenance, but not special tool as well.

Depending on where you are, you might even be able to find a member on here who you can beg, borrow, or rent one from. They might even hang out with you while you do it.

I know I think it'd be kinda cool to meet a few of these guys and work on a Pathy together. If only I lived in SoCal...

If anyone can identify what part number it is, I'm sure you could also order it from CourtesyParts:

http://www.courtesyparts.com/pathfinder ... _4885.html

It'll be one of the parts in the first diagram. I believe it's part #99540, but having an '03 and '04, I've never actually seen the tool. I'm going by what people online are telling me -- that it's the shorter of the two spark plug tools. I'd wait until someone else with a 3.3L confirms the part number, or you could always ask CourtesyParts.

Edit: Looks like they don't carry it in stock, but you could always ask if they could place an order for you. Or you could approach a local dealership with these part numbers -- which are Nissan's part numbers -- and see if they have it in stock.

Thanks a lot!! Found the tool on that black bag under the back seat. Never knew they were there. Assumed it to be only the lug wrench. There is also a gray cap/wrench in there, any1 know what that is for?

here's a pic i took of the tools inside it.

the gray cap is for the jack.

Theres a thin rod with a bend or two in it, and a slotted tip on one end - used to turn the #6 plug tool once youve got it on the plug... youll see the notch in the firewall made for the tool too, very easy to line up!

When you put the new plugs in, put anti-seize on the threads. I use Permatex 133K. It's messy stuff. I gap-check all the plugs (I get genuine Nissan because they come
gapped right), then coat the threads on all the plugs, set them aside on a paper towel, close up the Permatex, and go wash up. Then dive into pulling plugs.

Lucky fella who found the tools STILL in the bag. I'm not sure which years came with them, but if my 00 came with them, the previous owners must've misplaced them or kept them. Either way, congrats to finding a somewhat rare tool for Pathy/QX4 owners lol.
