Its been 2 weeks since I got my G37s. I have always been a fan of Nissan but have never had an infinity. Coming from a 2008 BMW 528i 6spd.Likes:Powerful enginebluetooth phone integrationbody styleheated seats(even in Florida)dislikes:gas mileage (17-18mpg). That is taking it easy while it breaks in.cabin is a bit cramped in the back and even the passenger side. I am 6'1" but the driver side is ok.road noise is pretty loud

I had a couple of questions for those that have the sport edition:Is the loud road noise due to the sports package? My friend has the non sport and she says its pretty loud too. Do you sometimes feel brake feedback/vibration on certain roads. I know this has bigger brake calipers.BMW got it 100% comfort/luxury/tight handling but infinity got much higher safety ratings. The G37 scored very high overall.

Glad you like your G37, I love mine! To answer your question, road noise is primarily due to tires. Was your BMW equipped with run-flats? Probably not if you think the G is louder...The newer BMWs have a harsher ride and more noise because of the run-flats.

I don't feel any feedback/vibration when I brake...but I only have 1k miles logged.

I didn't have the run flats on my BMW but they seem like these are low profile tires which may be the reason why its a rougher ride. They do feel like run fats from what I've heard from others. I've only put 500miles so far in 2 weeks. I really enjoy driving the car specially the power. The car is cool and fast I just need to get used to the gas guzzling and the ride.

Sounds like you are mostly happy with your G, first things first. Fuel economy will improve over time, but don't go too soft either. One guy I know would take off fairly briskly in 1st, then throw it into 3rd and 4th and so on and he averaged 22 mpg. Infiniti doesn't stuff their cars with a bunch of soundproofing, especially in the firewall/rear, since people want to hear the engine rev up and the exhaust roar. I dont know about your brake issue though. On choppy roads you may hear the VDC and ABS keep a wheel from locking up so you'll hear the actuator pumping, but thats about all.

I actually do like the car specially that engine rocks. I can live with the road noise. I don't even find the engine roar so load compared to the 370. I thought they had the same engine and I would hear a loud roar.

Tires are a big part of road noise. Tirerack has noise ratings - a good place to check when you are thinking about new tires.

We've had BMWs and Audis as well as the two Infinitis (plural?). My A6 was nearly silent - beautifully soundproofed. I don't think the g37 compares well to that or to a 5'series. The sport suspension on my g37 vert is definitely firmer than that on the others - our EX35 is probably better than my wife's old X3. BMW suspensions are wonderfully damped and manage to stay communicative without vibrating like mad. On my g37 vert, the exhaust note is more noticeable (and pleasant) than on my old BMW vert - I like listening to the engine with the top down.

Regarding gas consumption, your foot is driving that number. My wife used to routinely get 25 mpg on my Audi A6 and I could never crack 20 - mostly because I liked quick launches and cruised closer to 80 than the speed limit. I'm getting about 18 on the g37 vert - I love to jump off the line and feel the rush when I push the revs up.
