I was on my way back from the airport this afternoon and spotted this beauty on the freeway. I don't normally have a camera in the Q but since we were coming back from a few days vacation the Mrs. gladly fished it out of my bag and she took a few shots for us. Even she recognized right away that this Q was something special.

This 90-93Q was driven by a 40'ish African-American gentleman with a full gray beard. We pulled up alongside him for about 5 seconds but couldn't get him to make eye contact to give him the thumbs up. He was probably embarrassed to be driving such a hideous looking car, much less a hideous looking Q45.

The pictures don't do it justice. You had to be there. If you're the owner and a NICO member I apologize for this thread. Nice wheels though.

someone should be beaten like a red headed stepchild for defacing that Q,both the paint and the wheels! I once almost cried when I saw a early Q taxicab in Wash D.C.

What the damn hell?

That's a tragic picture. That man should pull over, park his Q, and lay down in the middle lane.

Before I got my Q, I used to see a cherry red '90-'93. I'm sure that it might have looked better if it was a quality paint job. It looked like it was spray painted from a can. Yuck.

Seems as if he was trying to go for the two-tone look that's popular on Caprices and such down South. I can't believe he tried to turn a Q into a donk.

Q45 = Not for the ghetto minded driver. He probably had a zebra print carpet on his dash.

Nothing isn't wrong with the wheels, but the paint is awful though!

BTW Haitian, that car is far from a Donk. 20" chrome wheels makes it a donk? I'm from the South and I've seen those type of cars.

Q45 = Anyone with a "luxury" mind state.

that statement is more true than you intended!!!! a ghetto Q,probobly bought for less than 2k by its 7th,8th,9th,10th+++ owner-each one letting it get closer and closer to the hooptie it is now! would fit right in in baltimore city, all the wannabe thugs with their pants hanging on for dear life would draw blood for it!

Not a full fledged donk. I'd probably "Do The Right Thing" and start a riot if I saw a "donked" Q.

It's reminiscent of the two tone Caprices and Impalas that have the truck kits and 24 or 26" wheels.

A Q used as a taxi? As comfortable as that sounds, that blows. Then again, the President was used as a limousine in Japan.

LOL! Well, I don't know much about wanna-be thugs, but that car is awful! Like I stated before, I don't have an issue with chrome wheels, heck that's what I had on my Y33. I bet the interior is shot to hell with all types of tears!!

Why don't they go ahead jack it up and convert it to a 4x4? Have y'all seen that? And I imagine the interior has sheepskin seat covers.

I think Mike's save posting a flame of it here. I wouldn't think a NICO member would do such.

The paint looks to be pearl white in the pic but it was actually a light shade of yellow. I don't think it was currently being used as a taxi since it would have needed the required markings but it could have been in a former life. Not much rear seat room for riders.

Maybe because we share the same sense of humor.

What's worse? The paint-scheme? Or the fact that the owner of that car paid money to desecrate his car like that?

He's definitely not a NICO member. None of us would deface our babies like that. BTW... did he have a mouthful of gold teeth and wearing a clock around his neck?

Tsk Tsk.

I wish I was able to "liberate" that Q from that owner. I'm sure a little "gentle persuasion" will do the trick.

Ugly paint job yes.

But I'd take it over a Y33 any day. The only Y33 I'd ever consider is one that has been VIP'd.

But let's not start this up again. Let's just agree to disagree.

Looks like he sideswiped a canary. I like how the yellow paint terminates at the rear. WTF?
