Ok, 2 things I need to check out on my car, wondering if anyone had any experience with it and how to fix it.

1) Front passenger corner light (next to headlight). This is pretty dim right now, very noticeable. Is it most likely a loose wire, new bulb, yellowed light, or what? It is a dim yellow color when on, the rest of the lights are about twice as bright and whiter.

2) I get a scraping sound coming from my back right brake ( I think ) while driving over 5 mph. It sounds like a light scraping (can't hear it over music inside cabin) and it happens off and on. The faster I go to more often it happens, but it seems to happen randomly/sporadically, but will usually not stop for more than 2 minutes, then start scrapign again. I don't notice any difference while driving. Should I worry about this or take it into the shop (was thinking about taking it in to get the fluids changed and checked out since I just bought it).

btw... 1996 240sx base model 98,800 miles, brake rotors supposedly recently replaced, and was salvaged from front end collision. This may be cause of light thing, previous owner didnt replace that, but did replace the headlight on passenger side.

I forget anything? Thanks for your help!

anyone?

The scraping randomly stopped for about 10 minutes on the drive home on the freeway today. Not sure if it'll stay fixed or not though :P

the dim light could be justabout anything.

As for the scraping noise, I'd get that checkedout. IT could be something simple as a dust shield moving around.. OR it could be something more serious. When it comes to brakes..

Scraping sound could be pad wear indicator. Have the pads checked for wear (or do it yourself).

pads look fine from outside... If the brake problem persists I'll get it checked out. As for the lights, we took them off and found it to be a defective bulb. I'll go down to Kragen or something later and get a new one. While taking it off, however, I found that in the accident the light housing was damaged, so it's a little loose. Once I pick up some superglue all will be fine though. I'll try to take pictures to show you later, but it shouldn't be a problem to fix.

edit: 1000 posts, w00t!:D
