Hi there. I'm new to the forum and really to forums in general so please be gentle.

1; I've recently discovered that the ball joint on the left front needs to be replaced. Bell tire told me 500 & change to do it but I can get just the ball joint from pep boy's for 44$. My question is without having a press, or all that much in the way of automotive tools, Would I be better off just having belle tire do it or is this something that can be done in a drive way. While it was on the hoist when they showed me the problem I could see what needed to be done to change it out and I think I can do all of it right up to the popping out and popping back in of the ball joint on the lower control arm. That's the main spot I'm concerned with.

2; I'm wanting to swap out my driving lights above the HID light's. I'm not entirely sure how to even get at them to pull the bulb. Do I have to remove the whole headlight assembly or should I be able to pop off the back cover without doing that??

Also Tat2 has more or less the same question about the headlight as I do but he has a picture that points out the light we're talking about.

I appreciate any help.Thanks.

Did the ball joint. Pretty easy really.

I know this is not the same as HID's, but I love the Sylvania SilverStar Ultras! They last long, are a lot brighter, whiter, and are rather inexpensive.

Yeah I've liked the Sylvannia's for a while as brighter replacements for OE bulbs. The main thing I'm looking for is the bulb type for the upper light above the HID's which is like a 9006 or something like that. Maybe an h11 connector.

Though my other big problem is how to get at that stuff without ripping the whole front end to pieces. I find it surprising that Nissan would design it so badly. At least with my wife's Volvo the headlight assembly come's out nice and easy with the release of a retaining stick. Oh well. The only method I can see now is to rip off the grill to get at the required bolts so I can remove the assembly.
