I have two keyfobs. The remote lock/unlock on both work just fine. But the remote trunk open does not. Any ideas? Could it just require a re-program of the fob? I am thinking not, since both of them stopped working. Manual unlocking/opening of the trunk using a key still works fine. Opening the trunk from the button located in the driver's door works fine, too. Not a serious issue, but would like to get it resolved. Hope it's an easy fix.

Thanks

I have the same issue on my G20.

It's not the fobs, it's something on the car... Seems it's whatever receives the signal for the trunk won't pop it.

Agreed. The trunk latch/actuator must work fine because I can pop it from the button in the driver's door.

Just in case, you do know that you have to hold down the trunk release button about 1½ seconds for it to activate?

I feel like such an idiot. I have very little patience so I've never waited the 1-2 seconds it requires. Well, that worked.

HAHAHAHA, that is too funny. I thought at first that there was something wrong with my remote for sure, but its just delay.

I know you figured it out but I wanted to also point out that there's a switch in the glove box that will disable the trunk release switch on the driver door as well as the trunk button on the remote.

Only the main key can open the trunk when the glove box switch is turned on. The idea is that if you drop off the car for valet parking and have valuables in the trunk, you open the glove box, flip the switch, lock the glove box with the main key.

The valet key does not open the glove box or the trunk. The valet key only works on the doors and ignition.

I've gotten a lot of emails about this issue from folks that bought J30 without owner's manuals and the switch happened to be engaged when they bought it.

Yes, but they'd already said the door switch worked on the trunk, so I guessed it might be the delay catching someone..... like it did me

Right. I was mentioning the glove box switch for the benefit of whoever finds this thread in the future as they use the Search feature.

You'd be surprised at how many emails I've gotten about the trunk not opening.
