Well here's the issue....
At first the sleepy eye toggle switch wasn't working. I replaced the lights and the fuses, that resolved the toggle issue so now they are moving up and down. At that point in time the headlight brights were working. While I was messing with it trying to figure out why the dims were not working and the head lights stopped working all together.

So now the Dims on the headlights don't work and they brights don't work.

What do you think is up with this?

Also my break lights are stuck on. I'm going to check under the dash for a button or sensor by the break pedal that triggers the break lights to see if there is an issue there.
Any recommendations on these Issues would be greatly appreciated.

Check the fuses again for the headlights. If I remember correctly the power for the lights is pretty simple, the only things that could cause problems are the fuses and the switch. Grab yourself a wiring diagram if you don't already have it. It will make your life much easier.

Brake lights are usually stuck on because this little rubber thing deteriorates and falls out. I fixed mine by taping a nickel over the hole. You'll know what I'm talking about when you see it.

Thanks for the response.

I got the break light issued resolved already. However, I'm still having issues with the bright and dim lights. When the switch is turned it triggers the pop-ups to come up, but no light comes from the bulbs. I've checked all the fuses and none were blown, I replaced them anyways. I also have two sets of lights already, tested the other set of lights and they did not work either. When I switch to brights the indicator on the dash comes on and shows that the brights are on, but still no light, dim or bright. I'm going to check to make sure it is grounded properly tonight as well as clean the contacts on the Turn Signal/Combination Switch. If none of this works then I guess I will have to refer to the wiring diagram(Chilton) and inspect the wires for issues......

if you know of anything else I could possibly do let me know.
Thanks

It might help if you used a multimeter to test voltage. That way you could easily pinpoint the problem area. I don't know how good the Chilton wiring diagrams are, but if they suck search the forums for a factory service manual (FSM). It might help you more than the other one.

I will do that tomorrow I wasn't able to get to it today.....

also my friends grandpa did a compression test on it for m and the first cylinders is not getting any compression. I've already replace the intake manifold gaskets. when I was doing that i notices the the o-rings on the fuel injectors were cracked up. I wasn't able to get a hold of new o-rings so I just put the old ones back in with high heat silicone around them... is there a possibility that could be the compression issue. The other cylinders he didn't really test but he said he was positive they are getting compression but he's not sure how much because he didn't check them. he thinks two of the cylinders may have lower compression. the motor runs without stalling and when it runs at 2000rpm it runs fine. it's not overheating at all and we've had it run for about an hour straight at times. I was also able to drive it around and it was able to get up to 85MPH fine i'm just worried and want to get these issue resolved before making it my reliable transportation.

thank again
