Any chance of getting some pics of the manifolds? Or better ones of them installed?

Just a suggestion, but air shouldn't have to bend that much to make it into the runners. Now it won't matter so much on a forced induction vehicle, but it will help some to give the air a straight path.

Ignore the short runners (unless you want to hear about dual length runner design). The one curved runner is just showing the possibilities for different entry angles into the cylinder heads.

My $.02

Huh ? His manifold doesn't look to me like the air has to bend any further than the designs you've just linked.

What I find interesting is that one bank's manifold is isolated from the other.

Anyone clue me in as to why?

My design really needs some explanation as it is just a rough rendering. Forget about the short runners that run straight down. Imagine the plenum's positioned over each cylinder head. The runners make a straight shot for ~10" into the intake port. That is long enough to smooth out any turbulance, it's also great for torque.

The design he has mocked up appears as though the runners make an S-bend into the head, I don't see how that could be as straight as my design.

Edit: Does my drawing appear as a link or a picture?

Just to clarify, I meant exhaust mani's.

Let me try to explain my design better. Here is a picture (albeit a bad one) of the intake manifold on a Ferrari F40.

The long runners between the plenums eliminate any turbulance as they run straight into the intake ports.

Edit: That's actually on a 288 GTO Evoluzione

ill post some more pics of the exhaust manifolds soon. My intake manifold has balance tubes on it, picture ive posted was of it still being made. I dont care to much about all out performance , as long as i can do big skids in it im happy.

The only S turn I can see would be in the stock lower manifold pieces. Eliminating those runners and using custom runners from the plenum to the head could help.

The only other advantage i can see in Jerminator drawing is that the cross flow manifold could allow you to keep the same length runners and still clear the hood.

Overall, this looks badass! Cant wait to see the exhaust manifolds...

just something to add. I saw CNB's thread on nissanv8.com. I forgot that the injectors sit on the lower runners. I assuming that played a role in the decision to keep them.

I guess you could still do the direct plenum to head runners if you included some custom injectors bosses. But then you'd have to worry about the angle, etc, something thats already designed into the stock runners.

I wish I had that kind of room under my hood for those manifolds. Any word on the turbo manifold pics.

Er, he doesn't have room under his hood for those manifolds either, they stick out about 300mm-ish :p

Excellent! What size throttle bodies are you using?

I wish someone would make a low profile aftermarket plenum for the VH. I am sure the stock "spider" plenum does a good job but it is such a pain to work on the engine with it on.

Oops, from that weird above angle it looks like it would clear.

Probably because of the back face of the plenums being at that diagonal or something. Yeah I see it too o_O
