If you dont absolutely need the power, neither.Dont FI you car just to say it is, and then go race around on the streets. Which I assume Is you plan considering your user profile interest is "Street Racing".

Also neither one can just bolt right up, they both require extensive engine modifications, and ecu tuning. If your absolutely set on getting one the easiest to install would be a Vortech supercharger.

A twin turbo setup in the long run would be able to provide you with the most hp, but they are difficult to install and before you up the boost you need to do install some forged internals on your motor. Vortech supercharger seems to be the most popular for the 350z, but the Stillens are also good and in my opinion look cooler.

I personally will be going with a Vortech supercharger some time down the road. Mostly because I already have headers and don't want to fabricate stuff to make a turbo system work for me. Also you can up the boost on a supercharger just by changing the pulley. But once again, before increasing boost do some internal engine work.

It all depends on where you want this power to be. Do you want the power just off idle or do you want to wait until 3k rpm (or so) before most of the power is there?

IMO superchargers offer the best low rpm punch and they give a nice steady torque curve through most of the rpm band. They will hit their max psi well before a turbo has spooled. You can argue parasitic drag vs. "free power" all day long, but with a V6, the drag on the motor from the S/C isn't as bad as it would be on a 4cyl.

The S/C would require a lot less fabrication and should be a lot cleaner looking under the hood. A twin turbo has two of everything which will lead to twice the headaches. Supercharger is to simple as twin turbos are to complex.

You have an automatic. When was the last time it shifted past 5krpm? How often does it let you get over 4k rpm?

My vote: Supercharger.

No such thing as which one is the best. They all have their strong and weak points, but usually the one thats the most popular has been tried and seen fit to work on our vehicles.

turbo's make more power and take less power to run, SC's have lower intake temps and less stress on the engine

^^^ Lets be completely honest here. Most people don't FI their car because they NEED the power lol. I will be doing it because I want to, and want the power.

Not sure of the OP's reasons but they are probably similar.

I don't know man, the last thing we need is one more of those Z's that rev their engines and race people at stop lights. You know the kind of car owner that watches fast and the furious, then all of a sudden thinks their hot s***, and a great driver, then wraps their car around a pole. (this statement is not directed toward anyone, but if this is you, you know who you are)

Oh, I totally agree with you. I want mine for 3 reasons. Want to at least get close to the power a guy in my Z club has lol. Fun acceleration on on-ramps. And track use.

i like the Procharger by ATI... It shows good numbers bolted up and has its own oil setup unlike most of the rest... Also all around is more solid design and just as respected as Vortech. Most V8 guys i know like the procharger/want the procharger. All i can say is it is what i want but do your research and find which one suits you best.

I really hope vortech designed this unit better than the unit they built for the TRD TC. I built a TRD TC show car and was going through a supercharger once a year. Only driving aprox. 8k miles per year. I really like the way it looks on the 350, but you might see why Im turned off to the unit.

I just want to clarify here. The procharger set for the 350z does not have any oil lines. So I don't really call that an oil setup lol. But it does say that the supercharger itself is self lubricated.
