I friend of mine dropped in an APS twin turbo..had about 400 rear wheel horse power and was running it rich...nothing to impressive. It did haul butt but after 6 months under normal driving at 65 the engine exploded and the piston jumped out of the engine and he had to pay 8k to have a new one put in..The dealer said in no way should he have run twin turbos..he should have stuck with a single turbo and the g35 engines shouldn't ever have this..unless you buy into mods like new rods..block mods and more..http://www.violentracing.com does it well though..but it costs 30k plus to do it.

If you are planning to do any turbo upgrade, you should plan to do the forged internals and whatever you can to strengthen the engine. It's put a huge strain on it,and you should also go up a weight in your oil.

A single turbo in place of two turbos is not going to cause any less strain just for being a single turbo. The dealer you or your friend spoke to has no idea what they are talking about from what your saying here. There are way to many other factors that would supercede any thought that a pair of turbos would put more strain on a motor than a single turbo. Theoretically, if a single turbo ran at the same efficiencies but at exactly double the airflow of each of the turbos in a twin turbo system, the strain on the motor would be identical.

If you are going to mod the engine with a TT, then (IMO) there's no one better to take the car to than VRT. I hope to send mine there one day...you know if I win the lottery or something...

I agree w/ C-Kwik about the single vs. twin turbo question. It just makes logical sense.

Yeah, would be nice. I'm just hoping someday I can hit the lottery too. Then I would take mine across the pond directly to top secret so they could build me an exact replica of their skyline haha.

you dont ever need to drop money into your lower-end unless you are pushing more that 8psi of boost. This is a waste of money.

I had jim wolf and stillen both do work-ups on my car and they dont recommend touching the lower-end unless you are going to have a bigger bore or go above 8psi.

Remember this is a NA engine. ITS NOT AN EVO|||V!!! Those engines are ment for 20psi or more!!!
