The concept has been around for over 2 decades now. Yes, the concept is correct, a roots type blower for instantaneous boost up to a RPM-based cutout and then the turbo takes over from mid to high end. HKS debuted a twin-charger kit for the AW11 MR2 Mk I in the late 80's in Japan complete with sub-computer. A few guys adapted it to the AE86 during the early 90's. Due to the price tag, it didn't stay in production for too long. The work around to this concept was nitrous, as it still is. I guess the only reason to have this is if you have a turbo that has serious lag or if you like to light them up at every street light or you don't like nitrous.

seems kindof a waste to me... why not have both the supercharger and turbo producing boost simultaneaoulsy? seems it could be much more effective and efficient, since the supercharger is going to be turning regardless.

I've seen a couple twin charged cars, one being some civic with a gsr motor, the other was a 94ish subaru wagon w/ a 35r. I think he ended up using a bypass valve of some sort because the s/c was too much of a restriction at higher RPM

You're an idiot. If you took the time to read the thread, you'd see that all of your questions had already been asked AND answered.

ANYWAYS...Nissan also had a twincharged vehicle, the March Superturbo. tiny as hell, with a tiny *** engine.

It's not a waste of boost, it's a good engineering concept, and allows boost all through the power range, but it adds a lot of weight and engineering and plumbing nightmares.Only for the hardcore.

And once again, no, both items are not boosting at the same time. There is either a designated RPM set into the computer where the supercharger is blocked off, or when the turbo spools up to the desired boost level, has the same pressure as the charger, the charger is blocked off.

Learn how to read, retard.

They don't make them anymore. They're discontinued. Done. Finished. You get the point yet? It's been stated already in this thread. You'd have to find them used and I doubt anybody would be willing to part with such nice wheels. Don't buy wheels. Buy hooked on phonics because you can't seem to COMPREHEND ANYTHING!

Dumbass. If you're gonna re-open a thread, at least say something constructive, not this childish ****.

I thought the DT05 was also discontinued from Uras. A "Importer" that post on this site made this claim though but I did not think so due to the fact that Uras still has them on their site.
