im looking at upgrading my tweeters like many of the other G drivers. I've read some posts where people say that it makes a good upgrade so i thought i'd look into it. I've been looking at the Polk Audio DB1001's...its a 1" dome..and I was wondering if these tweeters are compatible with the stock Bose amp that i have or will i have some complications. the box includes everything that Polk Audio would send in the box..2 tweeters..all mounting hardware (although i have an idea if they dont drop right into the stock location)...i saw the post where someone used the polk audio's for their coupe and they fit right in place, but the sedan is kinda different and i was hesitant about buying them..but all in all i wanna know if the tweeters would be fine running off the stock bose amp and if they would fit into the stock location or will some modding be necessary?

I used JL Audio VR tweeters and they worked. I believe the Polk Audio tweeters would work, too. I had to make a bracket to get them to fit and they came with the impedance filters. I think the whole job took about 30 minutes. Just be careful if you take the door panels off the car, because I broke one of the clips and it cost 3 bucks to replace. You will be very impressed with how much better the sound system sounds after you upgrade. The tweeters that come in the car are alot smaller than the new tweeters and the sound proves it.

Go to infinitihelp.com and download the factory service manuals. There are three screws and two clips to remove. Then pull from the door panel from the bottom. I broke a clip putting the door panel back on because I did not line it up right when I put it back on. The clip cost me 3 bucks and that kinda ticked me off. Just take your time and I had a friend help me hold the panel.

amazed at the sounds difference...sounds good with the upgrade..had to kinda bend the bracket from the stock tweeters so it would fit these new ones..but im happy..lol....could sounds a whole lot better if i was to switch all the door speakers out..but we'll have to wait for that.
