I have '07 g35x sedan. Some time ago I put the aftermarket tweeters (MB Quard) + crossovers to the factory places.

How do you think, maybe It would be good for sound positioning, if I'll make podiums with the tweeters so they would look a little bit to the driver (the left one) and to the passenger (the right one)?

Because now, the left tweeter plays to the edge of the moving gauge cluster.

How about on the dash itself right in front of the defroster vent. Put in 4 of them and leave the originals in place. Impedence match them. I don't really think it is all that necessary if the tweeter used is a wide dispersion type.

Personally, I don't think it's necessary. When you have a surround sound system, not all the speakers are pointed directly at everybody.

I don't think so either as I believe most aftermarket tweeters are wide dispersion. Woofers are almost rarely an issue, midrange maybe. But in this car you have a lot of plastic so I don't really see much of a problem, most items low mounted in the doors are not the type to be an issue, those mounted higher are typically not a problem due to dispersion.

Well, better late, than never:

Tweeters are MB Quard with additional crossovers (2 level filter), hidden in the doors.

Necessary or not, they look good and probably sound good as well. What did you do to roll your own mounts?

Thanks! They sound good, really.

The bodyshop did it for me. They used some type of joint filler with the stock podiums, and then painted to the factory black color.
