Hey everyone,

Thinking of replacing the V's factory speakers with a component system.

Anyone have any ideas of where to put the tweeter?

I don't know about the S models, but in the SL models we have tweeters on the front support colums down in the corner of the dash and windshield.

The rule of thumb is the closer the tweeter to the mid, the better the sound. The best I can explain is that you create a void in the sound when they are away from each other. One of the main purposes of the component set is to be able to aim the tweeter and better quality of course. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to email me, and I can answer mostly anything audio.

I just installed component speakers in the front and put the tweeters just above the small, triangular windows on either side of the dash. This panel pulls off easily after you pull down the black, rubber weather stripping.

Back when I had my V I had them drilled into the A arm and they came out really nice!

Fiberglass kick panels would be ideal, but drilling into the A-panel will suffice also. I'm using the stock location on the SL model.

I have an SL and totally did not even realize I had a tweeter. :P Damn. Guess it's going in there.

Also, does Dynamat make a big difference. Is it worth putting in all the door panels? And how much did it run you guys?

Always good to put it in door panels...makes a huge difference there too. And if you want enough dynamat just to surround the speakers (10x10 sheet) its about $30 for a pair...so $60 for all speakers. If you want enough to cover the whole door its about $120 for all 4 doors (comes as a kit). And just to throw it out there...a trunk kit is about $200ish and they even have a license plate kit thing and thats about $20. I would deffinenltly recommend this stuff, I had the whole trunk of my Versa dynamatted and wow . Now I just need to get dynamat for my truck lol.

Are there cheaper alternatives? As in other places that make a similar product?
