keep us posted as to if u pursue the q45 path...............there are quite a many of us running that upgrade as it has been proven to be more cost effective and less issues with wheel clearance........

doing brackets for the q45 setup would go against what you just stated, it would be adding to the cost and you would not have the wheel clearance anymore. but i will still look, shouldn't be a problem. To keep it somewhat cost effective i will probably keep it just for the cobra rotors.

Argh, I'd really like a set of those R33 caliper brackets for Cobra/350Z Track rotors too. Anyone else make something like that?

I would buy a set of z32 brackets now! The last thing I need to put z32 calipers on my car is the rotors. Let me know if you are still going to make these.

I second Q45 and other possible Nissan/Infinity caliper/rotors. There are plenty of Nissan SUV out there that can donate parts to quickly stop a S chassis.

Bump, you got any lead on Maxima rotors and calipers? Those look good too.

Well, I got the hubcentric rings from http://www.ashspecz.com, and they are pretty much the same thing as you'd see for hubcentric rings for wheels that are too big for your hub, i.e. made from polycarbonate. It's said that the stuff doesn't melt and is better than metal... I guess we'll see although I remain scepticla on the materials ability to withstand the heat cycling of the brake rotors....On the other hand, LOOK! 17" wheels can fit the 13" rotors with a 10mm spacer (sorry no info on the wheels sock offset, forgot to look) --->

If the above doesn't work then here:

More info and pix later!sil80

I don't think this thread went anywhere we haven't heard from the guy in ages...I hate it when ppl start one of those things, get everyones hopes up and then disappear.

And here we go!!

You can call me "clearance daddy":

17" is nicely filled out by 13" of rotor:

Enjoy!

I just recently replaced my brake pads (30mm Z32) and noticed the rotor had a minimum/replacement thickness of 28mm.If the Cobra rotor is in fact a 28mm rotor to begin with, wouldn't that be a bed starting place for a brake upgrade? Just curious.

This is kind of comparing apples to oranges.

You are right, when it comes to 300ZX rotor. It is 30mm which when worn down to 28mm SHOULD be replaced, as the plates are now too thin for safety. The Cobra rotor is 28mm STOCK, i.e has a different minimal thickness (According to their FSM around 26.0096mm). Hence, don't worry they have plenty of thickness. Also, there is a reason why the Cobras will wear down slower than the 300ZX rotors - due to increased surface area that the 300zx pad is now dealing with. Should be a while before they wear down.

yeh, run the VR-4 rotor upgrade, which fits under the stock 300ZX 16" wheel. There is no way the 13" Cobra rotor will ever fit under there. It's just too big, diameter wise.
