Hi... I have had an aftermarket DVD installed as well as TVNAv2Go on my 2005 QX56 so that I can watch DVDs in the front screen.

I have been told by the installer m that it is not possible to bypass nav on this year of QX56 IF you have the TVNav2Go. (Axxess IPOD connector and fm modular installed as well which next time I will have them use the 2nd input of the Axxess instead of the modulator)

Is this true that I cannot bypass Nav on a 2005 qx56? If it is possible, I would like to show them how it is done so that they will install it for me.

Thanks,

Soooo... can the Navigation be used while driving the car if the 05 QX56 has tvnav2go installed?

Anybody? Any ideas?

Performing the mod on your model year does not have anything to do with the TV and Nav 2 Go unit. I don't remember the specifics, but those that have done the mod installed a switch down on the left side of the driver's seat. I believe it broke the wire for the vehicle speed sensor.

Go here and get your service manual and look for the VSS wire under your pass seat on the Navi unit.

I think the 05 are different for color on the wire but the same steps to do it as here.

This is probably way late, but I can't imagine that they made any changes to how the systems operate from 04 to 05 nor there be any significant difference between Armadas, Titans and QX56's in this regard. They should be on separate circuits. I have the AVEelectronics unit installed in my Titan (pretty much the same thing as the TVandNAV2Go) and can bypass the navigation just fine.

yeah I did a few weeks ago.

We also did the hack in our M45 so we can watch DVD on the front screen and make nav adjustments now on the fly.
