hey guys. since i have the stock nav system, and we're not lucky enough to have an ipod integration yet, i have been searching for the best possible solution to not having cables running all over my car when i use my ipod. Well, i found it. Its called LiquidAux and its made by Kensington. Heres the link to its amazon page.... http://www.amazon.com/Kensingt...r=8-1 . anyways this product is amazing, and it does everything that i was looking for. Sure its not an actual ipod integration, but its the best we can do until/if one comes out for those of us with the factory nav. anyways....on to the tutorial...

first get yourself about a 6' right angle 3.5mm cord, a 3.5mm coupler and the LiquidAux product. i bought everything on amazon and you also have the option of buying the LiquidAux and the 3.5mm coupler together which is what i did and recommend. everything together came to about $55...

after you get those get your tools ready. all youll need is a small flat head screw driver (to pry pannels away) and a philips head screw driver (for 2 screws) and thats it! nothing else besides your hands.

step 1: this is where youre going to need that small flat head screw driver... Pry the small pannel that is underneath the HVAC controls that is parallel to the ground. i found the best way to do this was to pry it from the sides...

step 2: grab the top of the panel that surrounds the cd changer and give it a tug towards you. you should hear some clips release. you also want to pull up to get the panel all the way out...

step 3: grab your aux cable an start shoving it up underneath the plastic that is on either side of the center console. you should just be able to pull it away with very minimal force enough to shove the cable up behind it. go ahead and shove the cable behind the panel all the way to the back seat...

step 4: route the aux cable up into where the cd changer sits. you can see in this picture how i did it...

step 5: move both front seats all the way up to expose the 2 screws that hold the rear vent panel on. use your small flat head screw driver to pry away the little covers that cover the screws and then use your philips head screw driver to remove them. there should be 1 screw on either side...

step 6: pull away the panel that has the rear vents on it. i found this to be the hardest panel to pry away. it takes some force and feels like youre going to break something, but trust me....you wont...

step 7: from step 3 you should have already routed your aux cable to the back seat(behind the panel between the passenger seat and the center console). with the rear vent panel off you should easily be able to route the cable up and into the arm rest box. i found that the easiest way to do this was to slide the actual arm rest all the way to the front towards the gear shifter and open up the arm rest to expose the arm rest storage compartment. here are some pics of how i routed the cable...

step 8: go ahead and replace the rear vent panel. move the front seats all the way back to their normal positions, and replace the panel that surrounds the cd changer. plug the aux cable into the hole and then replace the little panel underneath the HVAC controls...

step 9: plug your LiquidAux product into the power outlet in the arm rest storage box and connect your right angle aux cable with the one that is attached to the LiquidAux product via the 3.5mm coupler and youre done!...

the only downside i found with this product is that the plug that plugs into the dock connector of the ipod doesnt hold too well. you can easily pull it out. small problem, but one im willing to deal with for having a clean installation.

wait, I'm confused... mchedaddi, you have the tech package in your car... don't you already have that piece where your CD changer goes? In any case, yes, this is one of the interchangeable parts for the coupe and the sedan... this is the piece I purchased, and that's how I got the extra DVD player below my main DVD player... in any case.. here's the link.. you want the one that says charcoal...

http://www.everythingnissan.co...gid=2

if the link doesn't take you there.. then

1. click on altima coupe parts (body parts not mechanical)2. console3. center console4. storage box(you want the one that says with leather seats, with navigation, charcoal)

however, I still don't understand why you'd want this in silver if the rest of the inside of your car has the woodgrain

thanks a bunch rob! yeah I have that piece already but it has a prob, like the bottom door's opening mecanism doesn't work anymore. Since its the only part in the whole car with wood along with the door handles/handrest I thought I'd try out some silver (the steering wheel already has silver so it's not like it wouldn't match).

OK, I gotcha.. well, before you get rid of the hole thing, try this..

I thought my change holder door open mechanism was broken once also... turns out, I had some change fall behind it and it was screwing up the door opening.. try this... see if you can force open the door, after you do, take out the black felt covered piece that the change goes into (it just pops right out) after you do that, take your fingers and sweep underneath the chaneg door. You won't be able to see anything, but you may feel some coins back there. remove those coins, replace the change holder, and see if that doesn't fix your problem!

yea...i wouldnt mind swtiching out my wood grain stuff for the silver metalic finish. Although i dont know how good it would look with the blonde leather. i originally wanted the black interior, but the dealership didnt have any black on black on hand, so i took what they had.
