turok, the dinosaur hunter

Actually, as far as I know, it's not out until tuesday.

The first two Turok games were among the very very few N64 games I liked very much. Hopefully the new one's good. I'm afraid to get my hopes up, though.

Yep, the N64 games were fun, but I dont see myself buying this one. I bought Rage Wars when it came out thinking it was going to be like the first, but it was actually better and became our multiplayer game of choice for a long while.

I'll rent it and see how it is.

Hmmm, looks like there's finally a demo of the new one on the XBL marketplace. I'll have to snag it and see how it is.

I dont know, im not very hyped about this game, although i only played the original Turok a few times, it seems as if they've changed alot of the basic game.

Oh, yeah, they've changed everything except the main character's name and the dinosaurs.

bought the game tonight. was impressed with the story line in the beginning of the game, graphics would of been better if i had an HD tv but that wont come till tax returns come back, but any way. The game play is very interesting, lots of killing and watching dinosaurs kill the bad guys, its always fun watching. have not got to far i was busy exploring the game and everything. ill report more later.

yeah, i got it last night for the ps3, graphics could be better, but gameplay is there.

and i thought it wasn't supposed to be out till tuesday as well, but i bought it at wal-mart of all places with no hastle

This game is terrible.

I played the demo for about 5 minutes and had to turn it off before I threw something.

The default control layout is crap. All the important stuff is spread out of reach while unimportant stuff is right under your fingers. Granted it can be adjusted, but why on earth ship a game with duck and jump in hard-to-reach spots but your OBJECTIVES button under your thumb? Idiocy.

I don't care about the graphics, but the gameplay sucks. NEVER, EVER take control away from the player. The 3rd person dino attack "jiggle the left stick" sequences are the WORST IDEA EVER. Button mashing minigames have never been fun. They never will. And they kill any immersion the game MIGHT have had without them.Then there's the knockback. Totally unpredictable, gives poor feedback, and is there just to disorient you. NOT cool. It's just like muzzle lift with machine guns in "realistic" games. Look: it's a game. I can't FEEL anything. So there's no effective way to combat that stuff. All it does is frustrate.

Also, I could do without the running commentary from the characters. SHUT UP. For 5 seconds! I KNOW the room is dark! I CAN SEE!

Yes, I hate that ****. Worst idea ever. They implement it to try to make it more cinematic ( I guess) and all it does is pull me out of the game. This was the one thing I couldn't stand about single player CoD3. Every time it happened it almost wanted him to kill me so I could turn the game off.

MoD and I usually have the same taste in games, and since I wasn't too thrilled with this game before he posted, I'll let this one get away. There's too many good games coming out soon for me to even bother thinking about Turok.

Saw an ad for it....game looks really sweet. Reminds me a bit of Dino Crisis.

Holy crap I forgot about Turok. That game kicked *** back in the day. They should just update the graphics in that game and rerelease it.

haha funny you say that , cause thats basically what they did. ive had this game for about a week now and its off the hook, i dont care what anyone says.
