I recently switched out some of my turn signal bulbs and change them from a standard bulb to an LED style bulb. They now blink at hyper speeds instead of the normal.

Normally blinkers usually blink fast when the lightbulb is out....but all of them work perfectly! I was wondering why LED bulbs had this affect on the system...and if it can be corrected.

LEDs have a lower current draw, so they have a lower load on the flasher. If there's a bad lamp, that also decreases current draw (as you mentioned).

I've read on a few sites that you need to switch to an electronic flasher vs. the other style. Which Q did you put LED signal lamps on? If it's the 92 the "combination flasher" is located under the steering column - check out the diagram on EL-151 - at least that's where it is in my 1991 manual.

I agree...I'd love to see this as well. This is a mod I've been considering for a long time... of course I bought "Q2" in November of 2001 and it's still not on the road!!! Making it plug & play vs. my having to solder somthing would speed this up a lot. I'll be dead before I finish all of my special projects.

On this subject, I saw a nice aftermarket LED High Mount Stop Light. I'd like to stick it on the top of the rear window, M3 style. Would it draw enough current to satisfy the stop lamp test?

I suspect it would throw things off. I think a resistor added in would fool the brake lamp sensor, but you'd have to experiment some with the value you'd need.
