turns over but wont start

im not new to trouble shooting things but i got a 92 240sx that is bugging tha hell out of me. i havent had a chance to fully check the car out but this is the story on it, tha girl was driving it came home got in it the next morning and it wouldnt start. her parents bought her a civic cuz the 240 had 211,000 miles on it, but i cant pass tha deal up on this sucker, $300 . but ti wanted to know if there are any common/ uncommon problems where the motor will spin over, and from what i have been told has fuel and spark, but wont start. like i said i havent had time to check anything out as of yet. im thinking sum stupid electical prob. fuel pump not strong enough, or bad mass air flow. anyhelp would be appreciated.

well not a MAF problem cause if that was the case it would run just not rev above 2500rpms, it does sound like a stupid problem though, turn the key and see if u can hear the fuel pump prime itself, pull spark plug boot and check for spark, that would be the first place to check

well i got the car sat. and got it running sun. the fuel pump was bad from sitting also had a poped fuse for the feul pump, fuel filter was pluged up solid, changed oil and filter cuz it had been sitting and it was a fram filter put 3 of the spark plugs in cuz they got a tap stuck in #2 cylinder and messed the threads up in 3 and 4 but i cleaned those up with a chaser, and it spun over like 2 times and fired up 175 psi compression on three cylinders that i can test. i ended up trading a laptop for tha car that was free to me and spent like 200 getting it running. but it needs a clutch and the a/c blows cold

well i have 97 isuzu hombre that it is gonna be replaced by this thing..... for right now im gonna keep it mostly stock but by this january i should have enough to do a sr20det swap and put in an lsd. the only thing wrong with the exterior is the hatch is rusted out so i need to find another one or buy a carbon fiber one...... so if u know wheres theres a good hatch around letme know. i didnt realize that there are only a few of these cars around here that are accually in good shape and driveable.... so its a rarity around here...lol everybody is into hondas around here, not that i have anything against honda but i wanted sumthin different and also sumthin rwd.
