Wassup everybody, ive been reading up on this site for a while, since before i got my car a couple of months ago, and finally decided to register bc i got a question...

BACKGROUND: i got an 06 g35 sedan, its a salvage title. it was involved in a front end accident AND it was rear ended. the front was pretty messed up, the rear not so much, ill post pics later in the member profile of before and after shots or whatever, anywho... i know FULL well what it means to get a salvage vehicle and the problems that i would be facing/am facing.. so please no lectures. its not my first salvaged vehicle and probably wont be my last...

NOW, at this point and time i will not get into all the flaws that the car has, but theres one VERY important thing. THIS CAR HAS NO AIRBAGS.there i said it, i know ill hear alot of fallout bc of this, but, im prepared to hear it. I only mention this bc my question (its coming) is directly related to it.

Question/Problem (finally huh?): The airbag light on my dash is on(duh), how do i turn it off, disable it, kill it, black it out etc? premanent fixes are perfectly OK by me.

fuse pulling, wire cutting, connector disasembly, black magic, animal sacrifices... all fine by me, just tell me which wire to cut! im pretty handy under the hood and with electronics, do alot of my own work on my vehicles...ANY and ALL info is greatly appreciated... just please spare the "its not safe, youre retarded" bit, trust me ive heard it all... THANKS GUYS!!!

You can try to fix it by resetting the ECU (disconnect negative battery for 12 minutes or something and pump the brakes, heaps of threads on that) and that might fix it. If its a tripped sensor then that wont work.

Im sure someone else here will have some ideas.

Welcome to NICO

I'm sure you realize that by purchasing a vehicle with a salvage title, the insurance company already determined that the vehicle was too costly to repair. My airbag light came on a few months ago and it took three visits to the dealer and a replacement of the air bag module to finally repair it. The first repair steps are to try and clear the fault codes. When that didn't work the module was replaced under warranty. My advice is to take your vehicle in to an Infiniti dealer. Take care of the service guy $$$. When they tell you what parts has to be replaced, ask if you can purchase them yourself from the parts department? Often parts can be purchased cheaper by a customer from the parts department then what the service department pays for the same part? The markup is passed along to the customer.Good luck with that.Personally I would not drive such a vehicle. Are you saying your life is not worth having a safe vehicle? You could use such a vehicle for track use only but if I were you, I'd look for a new one. Just my $.02 from an old farht

hey guys, thanks for your responses!I think replacing/buying/installing/resetting the airbag control module or ECU will not solve the problem bc the car has no airbags, and i dont plan on installing them anytime soon. the module will fault out with no airbags installed and the airbag will light up and laugh at me all day long... i was thinking more in line with *disabling* the light completely... a dash wiring diagram or airbag system schematic might help, if anybody has access to those...Thanks again, ill keep yall posted

ohh and i just put on the staggered 19 incher 10 spoke wheels from a coupe, they look saa-weeet!

and also, im looking for a reaview mirror (the wide base one) dealer wants a cool $350 for it, saw one on ebay a while ago for around $130, but of course someone outbid me at the last second. If anybody has a spare laying around ( i know not very likely, but doesnt hurt to ask) THANKS AGAIN, ive been reading up in some technical posts, you ppl are mod crazy and funny as hell, i think i belong...

Just so you are aware it will show up on the diagnostics when you go through inspection that there is an issue with the air bag system and the car will fail. The only way to take care of this is to replace them the right way.

No lectures here...I have owed both clean and salvaged cars. The sad fact is that I had fewer problems out of the salvaged one.

Its a free country do with your baby as you please
