Ok.... ordered my motor through boost_boy and it should be here end of next week barring any natural disaster's. I have a list of crap that I need to buy/replace before I actually start the swap. I don't want to have the whole thing bolted in and ready to go and find out that I am low on JDM blinker fluid and I won't be able to start it for another 7 months while a panda pisses it out. So here is my "To Do" list, if you can think of anything else that I am going to need, feel free to add it on.... Thanks!

Clutch- Very good idea to replace. Who knows how old it is and it what kind of condition. Leaning towards a SpecII disk and getting the CA pressure plate rebuilt by ACT since I would have better luck banging Anna Kournikova then getting a CA pressure plate in the US. Any ideas on how much it is to get it rebuilt?

Downpipe- Mine is cut in half. Just getting a GReddy or HeavyThrottle one for an SR and cut/turn/weld to make it fit. No brainer on this one

Motor mounts- KA one's are junked. Can't justify spending 250 for Nismo's and have heard they make the engine sit too high and cause clearance problems. Just going to get OEM KA one's from Nissan.

Intercooler- Running the stock sidemount for now. Not going to run big boost out of the box. Should be OK until 1st round of upgrades.

BOV- CA's don't come with them, going to need one. Eyeing the GReddy Type-S. Going to recirc it, don't want stumbling problems. If I wanted that, I would have kept the KA and saved 2 grand.

IC Piping- Jon has a hotpipe for me, and my motor comes with a cut charge pipe. Going to run exhaust tubing to the Intercooler from the throttle body using the cut up stock charge pipe. Easy task.

Intake pipe- I think mine is complete all the way to the airbox. Should be OK until I get an intake. What kind of adaptor do I need to fit a cone filter on the MAF sensor?

Tune up stuff- Synthetic Oil, filters, spark plugs, o2 sensor, already running a fairly new 300zx fuel filter. Redline transmission fluids going in too.

Boost Gauge- Just gotta find one I like

Boost Controller- Manual for now or none. If I do up the boost, may be to only like 10 pounds. More of a luxury item for now.

Turbo Timer- Neccessary?

Electric Fans- Clutch fans suck. Going electric. Do you guys wire it to a switch to run it manually or to a thermo switch to come on automatically?

T28 BB S14 SR turbo- Round one of upgrades :)

ANYTHING else I am missing, like I said, I don't want it to come down to muffler bearings and be out of a car for 3 months. This ***** IS going in in 2 days or else :)

EDIT: Forgot the fuel pump. Getting a Walbro 255, for 119 dollars, can't argue with fuel safetly.

Nismo mounts- get em they are the ****...that clearance problem was partly my fault. When i had the engine in, me and several of my friends thought there was no way in hell the hood would fit. Turns out it does but sits on the timing cover (which is no big deal)

Electric fan- mine is just wired to run off the ignition via a relay. Works great for me!

as far as a clutch, I beleive you can order one for a 1984 to 1988 nissan 200sx turbo. that car has a CA18ET in it, just a SOHC version of our motors ( and the source of my block and crank) I have heard, but I cant confirm that they are bolt on for the DE motors. here is a website that says you can still get NISMO clutches for the CA18ET, rated at 750KG for the pressure plate. I assume thats good?? seeing as how the stock is 450KG. and as far as an IC goes, see if you can find a mitsu starion/dodge conquest one in the JY. they are cheap and HUGE. it'd be like $50 to $75. looks like you've got everything already nailed down tho, good luck!!

best regards,McAdam

Jon,

I will be on most of the night tonight, so just hit me up anytime you see me online. I will take that hot pipe when I get the side mount from you. Thanks man.
