I was part of the honda forums a year or so ago. The answer to every question regarding a technical problem was "swap the engine". That was one thing I hated was the answer was swap the engine, why don't you swap the engine. The answer to my car won't start is not swap your engine. There are other alternatives like get a FMU and troubleshoot. Get you hands dirty! It might be a cheaper way. I'm mad today also because i just broke my transmission and i have had time to think about stuff. Nick

Everybody is hyped up on engine swaps. So when something little goes wrong it like swap your engine. I have a bad tensioner, 177K, blown transmission. I'm still sticking with the KA. I'm saying the answer i was always getting in a honda forum was swap your engine. Maybe i'm just preaching to the wrong people. Nick

well we would care if that happened. The reason there are so many "swap engine" threads is because kids see an sr20 in a magazine and immediately post, over and over and over again.

I think usually when people say swap your engine they are making that suggestion cuz they don't have any idea what your problem is so they say that almost as a joke. I also think you are exagerating the issue a bit. I doubt that for every problem everyone's solution is to swap the engine. you may get a few people saying that just cuz they'd like one themselves so they see an excuse to swap the engine so they say to do so, but I'll bet you get some valid answers too.

How can you even compare NICO to Honda forums? I'm with InstantRice.

someone should kill this one. Our general forum may give a joking respone like that. If you want to make sure you get a no frills answer to your question go to the technical forum or the engine specific forum (starting to sound mod like).

yeah I know there are alot of nicks. I'm going to my local junkyard and picking up a transmission for 150. The tensioner problem, I'm probably going to pick the engine up fron the junkyard and rebuilt mine. Nick
