Turning engine off

I recently switched over from my 08 Lexus IS350 to a 2011 M37 and I've been very happy with the experience. One nagging issue that I've been having is that with my old car I could take my foot off the brake while in park and press the ignition and it would turn the engine off without shutting down the radio, etc. Is there a way to do that in the M? Do I have to power everything down and then turn it back on if I wanna keep listening to the radio?

I have an 06 usually I press the shift knob button and the ignition button at the same time and that keeps the radio on.... might be the same for ur car... worth a shot

If that doesn't work, leaving the car in neutral will keep make it stop at ACC, then you can put the car in park. Note that, as has been normal ever since the appropriate interlocks were made (and presumably mandated by the USDOT), it isn't possible to turn the ignition to the off position when the automatic vehicle isn't in park (vs a manual where you generally have to push/pull a release near the ignition when turning it to off. Not sure if there are any factory push button start manuals out there).

On my 2008 you can push the start/stop button twice fairly rapidly (kind of a double tap), the engine will stop and leave the radio on.

On my 2K7, while in park, hold the shift knob button down, turn off the engine, radio stays on. Learned that trick here in the forums. Supposedly it is in the manual.

And the winner is... Boonies! The 2011 will shut off the engine with a double tap of the start/stop button. I tried the other ways but it didn't seem to work for me. Thanks everybody!
