hello everyonei just bought a 2005 350z and its amazing but theres something weird going on. i was on the parkway and the parkway had a decent turn so i wanted to see what the car can do. at about 65mph i was turning and the car started puttering, like the tranmission was getting stuck. it sounded like the car wasnt fully in gear(its a manual). so i tried it again and it did it again. any idea what could be the problem?

thanks

I agree. Every car I have owned has been RWD and I have never had a problem with any of them (except when I was still learning to drive in the snow lol). My Z doesn't even have VDC so it's not really a problem driving without it. I should know I've been doing it for almost 2 years with not a single issue.

I TOTALLED MY FIRST 350 BECAUSE I WAS DRIVING WITH IT OFF. YOU NEED TO TURN IT OFF ONLY WHEN YOU PLAN ON DRIFTING OR DOING DONUTS. ALMOST 300HP TO THE REAR WHEELS IS MORE THAN ANY TIRES YOU CAN FIT ON THE Z CAN HANDLE IN A TURN AND YOUR BACK END WILL KICK OUT ON YOU CONSTANTLY. THAT IS NO FUN WHEN YOU ARE NOT EXPECTING IT. KEEP IT ON NORMALLY. KEEP IT ON IN THE RAIN. KEEP IT ON UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF ROOM AROUND YOU TO RECOVER FROM WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOU HIT THE GAS IN A TURN OR HIT A PUDDLE WHILE ACCELLERATING. I WAS DRIVING MINE IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER WHEN I HIT A LITTLE PUDDLE OF WATER FROM SOME SPRINKLERS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND INSTANTLY WENT INTO AN IRRECOVERABLE SPINOUT. Hey there Wall of Text, it looks like your ears got damaged too - turn off the Caps Lock.

so what am i experiencing when i hit turns doing like 50? is my transmission messed up? or is it just a natural reaction of the car? why does it sputter like it does?

I'm not really sure what the problem is. The only thing I can think of is the rear axle issue they had for a short time. They have a tsb out on it. Basically the bolts in the middle of the axles start getting a little loose. So if yours are starting to go I guess it could make a shuddering around corners. Although this problem is usually accompanied by a loud clinking noise coming from the axle area. If this turns out to be the problem it is a fairly easy fix. Like $20 for parts (new bolts) and then they take the axles out flip them around and rebolt them in. Like 2 hours of labor or something like that.

its not really a clanking noise. its very hard to explain. it just sounds like the gears are briefly getting stuck.
