Ok so at stock boost (9-10 lbs) she runs great and pulls to redline through all gears. Turned up the boost to 15 lbs. Pulls hard in first and second )to redline). Once I hit third she fuel cuts hard around 5600-5800 rmp. Same for fourth and fifth. Been trying to figure this one out for a few months now- and yes Ive RESEARCHED. Whats the deal with this overboost protection- there must be a way to bypass it or trick the ecu! Know lotta people have this problem but everyone is a little different. Any help would be much appreciated. Useful infoExternally gated exhst. mani.Upgraded super 60 turboCustom upper intake plenumZ32 maf (na i think)super afc (1st gen)running a wide band (goes dead lean when problem happens)And Ill be glad to give ANY more info if needed!

Do you still have your boost solenoid hooked up??Because the ecu shouldn't have any idea of how much boost your running other than the larger amount of airflow.

Its possible that you've run out of injectors and the computer has recognized this and hit fuel cut. (Totally Guessing, have no idea)

I was thinking maybe you maxed out the MAF, but you said yo uhave a Z32 maf and a SAFC.The safc lets you use the Z32 maf correct?

Does the SAFC tell you your injector duty cycle? You shouldn't be more than 80%If your 80 and over you'll over heat the injectors.

Didnt want to mention that i have stock (270cc) injectors cuz its straight stupid- but getting ready to go for a drive to look and see if im runnin above 80%. Let u know what i come up with here soon. Can the safc tell the computer to fuel cut or cause it to fuel cut. BTW im 1 in and 1 out on the MAF setting. . . pretty sure thats right but tell me if im wrong.

Forgot to mention

pretty sure i dont have the boost solenoid hooked up.The SAFC does work with the Z32 maf Keep in mind at stock boost the car does fine.

I think you might be on the right track with the injectors- bout to find out.

Took er' down the road w/ consult 2- well actually w/o consult 2 (cuz i jacked up my dtc connector). But anyway I turned the boost down a hair ,leaned out my fuel a little bit and she pulled hard in all gears. We'll see what happens tonite (colder air= the need for more fuel) after i make a few runs. Pretty sure the car will fuel cut again. Guess I just need some bigger injectors cuz the stock ones are just workin too hard?? Lmk what u think.

Ya it definitely fuel cut again when i took it out later that nite. Turned the boost down AGAIN, leaned out the fuel AGAIN (afrs around 10.8-11.4) and she pulled well through all gears. Im gonna set the safc to 2 in and 4 out (like you guys said)- and will come back with some results.

i cant believe you're risking your engine tooling around with an safc that is set wrong.

Or running a TO4e on 270cc injectors. Anybody want to start a pool on how quickly this guy blows up his motor?

Danger is his middle name. Do u have a consult program to check ur injector duty cycle? The fuel cut could be called save my engine cut. The 270's are small and that new turbo u have could use some more fuel. I guess u could just bump the Fuel Psi to 4bar.

If it is... I finally found another person with the same intake manifold as me.

I had contacted THP and they couldn't even confirm for me if it was theirs... "maybe one of our early prototypes" :p

Not having my setup running properly yet (previous owners mucked with wiring harness)... I can't really speak from experience.

But please... get some real injectors/management for the higher boost on a bigger turbo.. please.
