Just picked up a 1980 pickup that has been sitting since may of 2002. Replaced a radiator hose and some fresh gas after cleaning out the carb and she runs great and everything is working except the turn signals, I checked the fuses, and the two flashers under the steering colum have power to them but no turn signals or emergency flashers, I was thinking the multi function switch but thaught I would post prior to getting knee deep in this thing, thinking there might be a commom easy to fix problem.

Well I was right, it was something common to both the turn signals and emergency flashers, I downloaded a wiring diagram and the emergency flasher switch on the steering colum is common to both systems so a quick check with the ohm meter showed power in but not out in any switch position so I took it out and disassembled it, sure enough it was all corroded up and very dirty, some wire brush and brake cleaner had it looking new again and when reinstalled, everything works great!

Glad to hear you figured it out. I had my 1984 Service Manual out and looked at the wiring diagram and thought . . . Hmmmmm . . . . maybe I should offer to send him a copy of this page? LOL! Glad you didn't have to wait for me to get around to doing it.

Throw up some pix of your truck. We'd like to see it.
