Turn Signal Malfunction

I'm having a problem with my headlights and AZ-ZBUM has assisted me on diagnosing but I'm also having problems with my left turn signal not turning off after the turn has been made. Could this be related to the headlamp switch which I am replacing or another part that I should take care of while I am in there?

turn signal cam, I've never dug that deep into a z31 column but on other cars there is a plastic gear that clicks the signals off as you turn, it gets worn and needs replacing over time
