Is this possible? It seems like it should be possible to change the heads, ECU, intake, manifolds, etc, and turn my SOHC VG into a DOHC. But I don't know what all the differences between the two are. I am very interested in this conversion, so any information would be greatly apprecitated. Perhaps I could even grab some parts from a Z33TT and make a J30TT... That'd be nice. But I have a bad feeling this conversion is not as simple as it sounds.

i doubt that the dohc heads would swap over bro. i think there is too much variation in the blocks. especially the early vg30e blocks. also the z33tt is kindof confusing. z32tt maybe? i believe there are a few infiniti guys who are seriously attempting the infiniti j30tt. be careful refering to a j30 though as it could be misinterpreted as an old j30 maxima.

Yeah. Z32 is what I meant. Just a typo; my brain doesn't go as fast as my fingers type. How difficult is the full-engine swap from VG30E do VG30DE? Wiring issues? If it's too much bother, I might as well just wait till I have more money and go all the way with a VQ40DE swap. Maybe the easier one would be a VE, since my car was kinda sorta designed for it...well the SE was anyway.

And by the way, I DO mean the old J30 maxima. Sorry about that...I'm used to the Maxima forum, where there's no confusion on that.

a vg30de would be cool in a j30 max. i think its doable with the right amount of patience.
