Has anyone ever heard of one? A buddy of mine bought a VG30DETT race motor from Z1 Motorsports and I've been wondering if anyone makes an SR like that. Not that I plan on dropping $10,000 on a pre-built motor but I actually just want to see a build list so I can budget myself accordingly before I go into debt because I forgot about a gasket or something not being able to handle my goals or something like that. Thanks in advance fellas. I'm going for a 300hp build and I AM using the stock turbo...I know I know...it's impossible blah blah blah...but I think it can be done.

not going to bash your plan or anythign, but if you want to build a "race motor" then plan on using a different turbo and be ready to spend lots of money on machine work for the head and block. its goo dyou want to research everything, but its also very easy to get 300hp out of these motors with a stock rebuilt engine, a mildly upgraded turbo (almost stock), and a few supporting mods, all done for pretty cheap.

http://www.phase2motortrend.com, shoudl have everythign you really need for a 300hp goal. Donty spend money on shiny fancy parts that arnt necessary for this "built motor", i quote it because 300hp doesnt need much to be reliable.

with no real supporting mods besides full 3" exhaust, t28 (S15) turbo, boost controller, and FMIC, i made 270 whp at 14psi. If i install my bigger injectors and cams i have here, ill make 320 at 18psi, then ill be maxing the turbo out tho.

so good luck to you, keep it simple, keep it cheap, and buy reposibly.

Well actually I'm doing two builds. My 300hp build...just to get the car running. I figure while I have the motor apart I might as well forge the lower end and do some fun things. The second build includes a GT35R...and 600ish hp. So thats why I'm using rods rated at 700hp. I'm starting off CP 9:1 compression ratio pistons with 87mm diameter...so machine work is a given. Port and polish will be done for the 600hp build. My goal is basically to build the lower end up so I never have to touch it again

Oh and btw...I was looking for a turn-key motor. Not someone to build my motor. I want to see a motor that has already been constructed and tested so I can see what works well..instead of hearsay...I've visted a few of those websites before...but thanks for playing. Trying to make other people look like an *** by bringing up the search feature never makes you look good....infact some people might think you're an ***.... I was looking for something more like this:http://www.z1motorsports.com/i...2e213but for the SR motor.

your best bet is to talk to guys on other forums that have built their own engine that are making 600+hp. There are lots of smart guys with good engine building tactics that have had huge success. Alot of shops for sr powered cars wont post up all their specs and stuff to keep things secret and private thats how they get their business.

Z1 tells you everything they do and all the parts they use. SR is much more basic and reliable than the ever problematic VG that Z1 specializes in.

goodluck with the build, think light weigh bottom end to help get the high numbers (knife-edged crack, balanced rotating assembly)
