alright so i have been doing some research asking around asking different shops and stuff and i still dont know so i am asking for your opinion. So i am debating weather to get a t28 turbo or a t3. I have called a few shops and one said that since i have a ca that the turbo is to big and that it would take time for it spool up and that the t 28 is a better turbo b/c its smaller and spools faster. Called another shop and got the same responsed just reversed that the t28 is to small and a t3 is a good turbo if am i looking for 280+ hp which is what i am looking for. Let me know what you guys think i know there is a couple of people on here that use t3's and t28's.

gt28rs will do you about 350 topps. you could go with the gt2876r if you think you are man enough. as for t3, something in a t3/t04b .48 will work well too. any one of those will work great. one nice thing about a t28 is you get to use the stock manifold.

amen to stock manifolds, you'll even boost sooner with the stock manifold. On my GT28R on stock manifold I started building boost at 2200rpms and by 2700rpms I was at full boost 7psi. When I switched to a SSAC manifold I was building boost at 2600rpms and by 3100rpms at full boost 7psi.

Yea, the GT28R on the stock manifold spools quite well and should get you to the 280HP mark w/o a whole lot of trouble.

Please see the upgrade guide in the FAQ. It'll walk you though everything you need to do to get there.

Easy to make an adaptor flange for T3 on stock manifold as well. I´ve used the stock one up to 350bhp, works fine.

people who say a t3 is too big for a CA18 are full of crap

check out some turbo 4AGEs (1.6 liter) most of those setups is see are t3s to start with

I agree, a properly sized T3/T4 hybrid really won't spool any more slowly than a GT28R on the SSAC manifold and will make way more power.

Ill also agree because you see honda's all day with 1.6l and 1.8l rocking T3/T4's.

The drawback comes from ease of installation. For the Honda guys, it's not a big deal because they can get kits all day long, and so taking that route isn't that big of a deal for them. For us, it's requires custom fabrication, which increases the cost of installation.

Which skyline turbo? The T3 off of a RB25?
