Ok, so...i was reading "DOHC turbo for dummies" and i've come to the conclusion that this is my goal

Quote »Turbo Manifold T3/T04E .50 Trim compressor, .60 trim compressor housing / Stg 3 (aka TA31) turbine wheel, .48 to .63 A/R exhaust housing. Internal wastegate optional but not recommended. Downpipe can still be 2.5", but this is as far as I would want to push that. Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC) It's time to upgrade to a larger front mount as the larger will push more air than the smaller sidemount can cool.

Fuel Control 550cc Injectors SAFC2 to control your fuel injectors, along with the stock ecu. MSD BTM At this stage I would be running the BTM to control timing retard. Reflashed ECU-This can be a DIY thing with Megasquirt Tuning or a JWT. Z32 Maf is required, as the stock Maf stops being able to read at around 260 rwhp. Wideband O2 Sensor should be installed for tuning.

Block Internals This is where I would start to consider it necessary to replace you pistons.

Above Average: 350 rwhp to 425 rwhp[/quote]But i was wondering if these turbonetics turbos could fit into the equation

T4EGT-K 350

Help is greatly appriciated.

Edit: ok, so those links dont send you exactly where you need to be, but im sure its obvious what im talking about.

Turbonetics turbos are made in china, and lots of people have had bad experiences with them, do a bit of research. The GT-K is wayy over priced for what it is..

Going with either Garrett or Borg Warner is always a good idea.

For your goals a t3/t4 50 trim .63 ar is perfect, those turbos are really great on a Ka.

Either one of those turbos would be fine. I just cant see paying almost 1400 dollars for a made in china turbo though.

the GT-K's are overpriced, but turbonetics turbos aren't made in china, lots of people have had good experience with them(not just imports), they're just as good as garrets.

you might be thinkin of people that put turbonetics housings on ebay chinese turbos, thats a whole lot different.

Under 400whp go with a T3/TO4E 50 trim compressor wheel and a .48 AR exhaust housing. Over 400 go with the same turbo but use the .63 AR exhaust housing. The smaller one will have almost no lag and has been proven to put down 400ish at 20 psi on AZHitmans Vert

Dunno about the Turbonetics vs China thing...never heard that one. They are a pretty big name. I doubt they would outsource to China, simply because of the quality control issues.

Ok, so the gist you guys are giving me is, the GT-K 325/350 will suit my needs......but its over-priced? And the generic turbos they make will suit my needs also, but they have quality issues.

Here's where I come in, for my price range I have a few options1. A used Garrett 2. A Godspeed Turbo3. A T28 Garrett(with compromise to power?)4. A NIB Turbonetics Turbo

So, i mean......yeah I could go Garrett, but I work hard, and for me to have peace of mind I would want to buy new. I hear Godspeed is as worthless as an Ebay Turbo. I've had many people say the T28 is garbage also, and doesnt fit well with KA's, so I mean by process of elimination I went with Turbonetics.

A NIB turbonetics turbo isnt much cheaper than a new Garrett turbo, your talking a tiny bit extra.

Or go with a Mitsu(greddy) turbo. I can get those things for stupid cheap now that Greddys gone under. Mitsu makes fine turbos. A TD05 would be fine or a TD06 for more power.

If you go to their store its going to be full price, they arnt going to go under their own MSRP in their store front. That would completely screw their vendors.

However they are trying to liquidate their inventory right now and i can get crazy deals on anything Greddy, turbos especially. If your interested i can look up some prices tommarow.
