Your terminology is all wrong, "48 trim" doesn't exist... Trim usually refers to the compressor wheel, while "A/R" refers to the turbine housing shape [which helps dictate spool time]. An .48 A/R exhaust turbine is about the smallest you can find, it will reduce spool time but consequentially it will not flow as much on the top end. Most people seem to opt for the .64 A/R turbine for a balance between spool and top end performance. In your last sentence you mention you'd rather have a 57 trim... I know you probably meant a .57 A/R, but you're right about the 57 trim compressor. From my own research and looking at the compressor maps, the 57 trim .64 a/r T3/T04E is a good match for around 1bar of boost on an RB20. BTW, If you're into the 300hp range you should plan on new injectors [440cc-720cc] and some kind of management [rom tune, powerfc, etc]. Hope this helps...
