Anyone have this wastegate? How do you like it? I see a lot of people running the TIAL wastegate. Is TIAL better than Turbonetics when it comes to wastegates? Let me get your opinion. Thanks!

I´ve used both and they are both top quality, never any problems.

The old Delta gate used to have alot of issues. I haven't heard anything bad about the new ones.

Best verify.

I see used Delta going for good prices compare to used TIAL's, that is the reason I started this topic.

Yes, but I wouldn't take any chances with it personally. Perhaps if I see the've held up with relatively few problems in the next couple of years, I would consider it. TiAL wastegates are not terribly expensive to begin with so the extra peace of mind would be worth it to me.

I discovered this unit after buying my TiAL or I would have one right now. I like the idea of using the shims to change boost setting. And since they give you three shims (3,6,12 IIRC) you get 3! boost settings (3x2x1, or 6 settings -3,6,9,12,15,18) I have an 8psi spring that I need to change for 30 bux, you decide.

I don't know much about this wastegate. What kind of flange does it have? 35MM? 38MM? Mmmm. And Chezedik, I don't get the spring setting you described, more info please? Let me know. Thanks for all the replies.

It is a 35/38mm flange, I believe the outlet is 38mm. To change the boost setting you shim the spring to get it closer to bind. So you never change the spring, just put a shim on it. You do this because on a coil spring the closer the coils get to touching (coil bind) the more energy is stored in the spring, and so it will require more boost pressure to overcome the force of the spring.

Whereas in the TiAL, they just use a larger spring, which requires more energy to start compressing.
