I have been tossing around the idea of getting my rb20 in my s13 to 300whp. It just so happens I'm getting rid of my sil front and a guy wants to trade me his front plus a pretty new 60-1, the only info I have now is its a/r.63.

It doesn't seem to me anyone was running these on a rb on here or aussy forums so I was wondering if any of you turbo gurus could tell me how it will perform on the rb20.

Mods: 550 Inj, FMIC, 3" Exhaust, 48mm Wastegate, z32 MAF, ROM tune(CarlH)

I have decided on a manifold and would like to go with a HKS cast so if anyone knows of one for sale let me know. If not I guess my options are 6boost or see what jps is carrying on ebay.

Thanks guys

oh and I use this car for drifting mainly.

60-1???What is that?

Is that a straight T4 with a .60 a/r comp??

But with the HP and RB20 I'm thinking more like T3 super 60...Which would take you to 300 and spool pretty quickly.

check out Garret or Turbonetics website for the comp maps.

Then google: "how to read a compressor map"There's a site with all the calculations

CID on a stock RB20 i believe is 118.538b^2 x s x # of cyls (6) x pi/4 (.7854)= cidbore- 78mm = 3.042"stroke-69.7 = 2.7183"

I think that will be pretty oversized for an rb20 thats only looking to make 300 whp. I believe thats the same turbo that turbonetics uses on their 350z single turbo kit. Theres a guy in SAU that runs one in his s14, and I believe he makes over 400 hp.

I have a t3 super 60 and I'd imagine if it were tuned with more timing I'd be in the 300-320 range. 15 psi in third I believe comes right after 3000 rpm, you might like that turbo better.

Hey, get his turbo and trade for mine, what a great idea! Haha, I'm ready for more power.

Good luck

You live 20-30 mins (if that location in your profile is right) from an EXCELLENT turbo guy who can let you know what you need and provide you with anything you would want in the way of turbochargers. 300rwhp shouldn't be an issue, call (800) 275-2531, speak to Charlie. He's just up 301 from you in Belleview.

That is the same setup im running. Hks cast bottom mount with a 60-1. I think it was a good turbo for the rb20 just my opinion. Good spool time too

Yes I use to live in Oxford and Bellview was my next door neighbor. I might have to give them a call and thanks for the resource.

I had just about ruled out the 60-1, b/c it really does sound like its too big.

Though 300 is what my goal is if I pull more it wouldn't hurt. Mott you care to elaborate on any dyno info or actual spool times and other specs you are running.

http://www.atfreeforum.com/pin...d...I have a detailed list of my build. Im still building so i dont have any dyno numbers. I want to say around 4000 turbo fully boosted. But i havnt drove the car for like 2 months and i still need to degree my cams, get bigger injectors, z32 maf, and a car h tune. Once i get all of that i will give you some power numbers and it should also spool up faster since i know it is running on stock tune. Damn money pits. oh and i would say a 60-1 is way to big your goal..

the s-60 is good for 300 crank as far as i knew. thats why i use mine with about 10miles on it as a paper weight. wouldnt be worth replacing it with my stocker.

maybe you could push it farther, but you would be getting off the map after 350.

I've decided against it b/c of having to purchase a manifold to run the turbo and I only really have the money to get the turbo, maf, inj, and tune. Might be looking at getting a greddy tdo5 18g thats internally gated.

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of a garrett t3 super 60, the one with the .42 ar comp cover? Turbonetics super 60 I believe is significantly larger. I have the super 60 with a .63 ar comp cover, it does alright.

Great, let me know if you get it, I'd be completely down. If you wanted to wait a while until I can get on the rollers and give you some numbers after I adjust my timing (conservative map), we could know for sure if this would be a good fit for you.

didn't really read the thread, but i ran a Garret 60-1 (T04-S) on 22lbs and made 430wh w/ my RB25 and supporting mods...w/ the same a/r as you too...may be a bit big for what you want to do, but would make good power on the motor for sure. I have mine for sale as well...pulled it to go T70 this year. Make a reasonable offer and its yours :D

Here is the guy selling the 60-1 if anyone was interested.

Trying to get a td05 18g internally gated turbo, sounds like it will be just right for my goals
