I’m going to be turbo charging my KA24e.. I’m a college student so I’m looking to do this on a budget (less then a grand), I’m not trying to make 400 RWHP or anything of that nature, id be happy with half of that. so far I have a Turbo manifold off a 89 probe GT that I pulled outta the junkyard, I compared it to the KA24e exhaust manifold while I was there and its almost identical (ports seem to line up and two of the bolts look like they’ll work), scary idea I got off these boards… got it for 14 bucks and with some modification I think it would make a decent turbo manifold. I have a supra intercooler that my brother was going to use in his project car but he decided to get something bigger so it’s mine if I want it. I have a few questions I need advice on. Yes I searched, couldn’t find much relevant info.

1) I read the CA18det injectors well work on the KA24e. Since I'm only looking to make 7-10psi do I need to upgrade the stock injectors? 2) Do I need to upgrade the fuel pump? If so would the walbro 255 do the trick? 3) Do I need an SAFC or anything of that nature? Do I need to have my computer reprogrammed, JWT??4) What turbo should I go with? I want something quick spool, should I go with a T3, or a T3/T4? 5) any other major parts I’m forgetting?

you can use CA Injectors but make sure you get the high impedence ones for easy installiation, if you do get low impedence ones just wire in a resistor and they willl be high impedence. an upgraded fuel pump is not a bad idea. fuel is not something you want to cut corners on when doing a turbo application. you can use a safc or have the ecu reporgrammed. i would go with a safc because reprogramming an ecu is about 500+ bux so its not cheap. just get a used safc and you will be good there. if you want quick spooling go with a t28 ot t3. i run a t3 on my kae-t and it spools fully boost around 3000. you will need oil lines, some gauges to monitor, downpipe if you dont ahve one already, and what do you plan on doing for tuning the motor? and where are you located?

Hmm the ca18det injectors come in a high imp form? I thought they were Low imp? Do you know what model the high ones come on? Yeah JWT charges alot, I've heard there are other tuners/companies doing that now, don’t know if they are as good or any less expensive. I'd prefer SAFC either way. T3 is what I had in mind; I'm in Miami FL. so I'd definitely have to upgrade the fuel to run 7-10psi? If I run more fuel can I up the boost to 12?? thanks for the info.

CA18DET are high impedence. If you want cheap top feed high impedence injectors, look for 460cc RX7 injectors '88. They'd work great with the SAFC2.

nope not at all. you do need to trip a bit of the plastic off the injector clips but its not a big deal. and the clips fit on there nice and tight.
