alright i bought a turbo kit off my friend from his honda civic(brand new condition edelbrock street performer turbo kit i got the turbo, fmic, piping, manifold, bov, guages.. all that for 400 bucks and its basicly new.. now the turbo, guages, bov, boost controller, and fmic i can actually use. anyone know where i can get a manifold to work for this turbo? will any manifold work? also suggested places/sites to get one would be great. also piping.. woul di have to make that myself/modify this piping or would i be able to buy my own piping? im gonna get new performance fuel filter, fuel pump, and injectors too i was told on my other thread where and what to get from there. i have the SOHC 89 engine ka.. i was gonna do a swap but i figured i coul djust turbo this engine get some more hp and rebuild this engine for cheaper.. any suggestions/tips?

SSA= SSAutochrome manifolds. Lots of people have been going with these lately despite numerous complaints about the quality of their workmanship and materials. Bottom mount means the turbo is mounted on the bottom of the manifold, facing down instead of sitting on top facing up like a lot of other manifolds.

JGS= JGS Precision Turbo. They make (and sell kits for) what I beleive is the cheapest manifold option for the KA. It's a simple log type deal that you can customize or have built complete. Their website: http://www.jgstools.com

T2X = Any T28, T25, etc... the x is a variable like in algebra... He's just saying any manifold will work as long as it has a flange for those turbine sizes.

Basically to answer your question, cosmo is right. It doesnt really matter what manifold you get as long as it has a flange that fits your turbo (a ball bearing T28, according to s13chuckat if that is right). Any manifold will FIT, I mean... there are various other things you need to look out for such as clearance issues with power steering, brake master cyls, steering rack w/ downpipe, etc etc etc. Also some people prefer equal length runners over a log style manifold because of the better flow characteristics... Equal lengths are more expensive, however.

Good luck man!

yes that is correct. "The same turbo used on the JDM S15 Sylvia" according to Edelbrock.

I don't think that anyone notcied that you are running a SOHC KA. They make manifolds for that motor , but they are usually with the T3 flange. If you want to use that t28 setup , you'll have to have a manifold made custom . Or, you could sell me the T28 and FMIC , that works too

lol itll work the manifold as far as that goes. if u want me to sell ill give u the bov, piping, fmic, turbo, wastegare, intake everything that comes in the kit(but for a 96 civic) for 700 u pay shipping. sorry i wont part out. if im gonna sell it wtf am i gonna do with a minfold an dpipin gso a civic? let me knwo if your interested i am leaning towards just leaving it a n/z and puttign lots of performance parts in it.. its got enough power to drift as it is plus with me being 16 and all budget is at a low and i can turbo it later. let me know

lol. You tell us you paid $400 for it, then try to sell it for $700 a few posts later. Still not a bad deal, but man, be a little bit more discreet about it. Oh, and the buyer has to pay shipping

I would love to be the friend that knows he did a favor by selling it to you for an amazing price, then had you go and sell it to someone else for 300 more. Capitalism at it's best I suppose, but still jacked up in my opinion.

Hey man .... I think the N/A thing is a good choice for you . Being young and broke is no way to start a turbo project. Trust me, you're way in over your head. Anyway , I'd like to take that stuff off your hands, but I don't think that it is ethical or benefitial for me to give you a $300 profit on what your friend hooked you up with. I'd like to see pics of the turbo, BOV , and the FMIC before I make my mind up as to what kind of price . I'm offering right now though, $400 , what you paid for it, plus shipping . I gotsa see pics though first, and also how many miles are on this setup? Thanx Bro .... email pics and stuff to [email protected] .... thanx

so now you payed 500?

I know its a fad now, but whatever you do, dont start playing p0ker. You are horrible at bluffing

Ill give you 550 shipped.. 20k is a lot on a turbo kit, espeacially one that some honda ricer most likely abused.

Can we please not bust Paintball's....balls. If you've ever earned a buck doing anything, you know its about buying cheap and selling for more money. 700 is a great price for a whole kit.

If you think the car dealership pays what they tell you for cars that you buy I've got a ton of stuff you guys may want to look into buying from me.
