i have alot of friends with b15 and want to go turbo.

i know its a sr20ve(usdm trim of course).

questions

1. can they use the sr20det maifold off the s13/s14 sr20det rwd motor?2. is their any company that sells fwd sr20de-t manifolds.3. can the t25,02 housing for the rwd sr20 be used and the downpipe as well?

i read the faq and the turbo install its helpful. doesnt seem to bad.

also can a turbo setup be done for less then $1000? that assuming for fmu they will be using a 255/safc/ and stock 370 pushing 10-12psi. and can 200whp be met through this?

thanks

It's not an SR20VE. USDM B15s have a roller-rocker SR20DE.

1. Using the RWD manifold would cause clearance issues, I believe.

2. Any motor importer probably could get you a manifold alone if you talked to them.

3. The DP definitely wouldn't fit, the engine's turned the wrong way. The O2 housing (you mean j pipe?) might work, I'd have to see one and look at the angle. If it just turns from outlet downward it'd be fine. Bear in mind that the JDM 02 won't work with the USDM ECU.

It can't be done for 1k. Getting the turbo parts just wouldn't be feasible at that price. If you bought everything used you might hit $1500. Let me think here....

Mani/turbo/jpipe = $500ishWalbro 255 and some sort of FPR = 2-300SAFCII = $150-200Injectors (stock USDMs are 259cc or something like that, they will not suffice even on stock Bluebird T25 boost, which is 7psi) = $100-150IC setup = $300-400

You also need a 2.5 or 3in catback exhaust and downpipe, preferably with a high flow cat and other little crap - oil lines, water lines, etc. I spent roughly $2500 for the kit I used in the writeups you saw. I can babble for awhile, but instead I suggest that your interested friends email me at [email protected] ... I need to check that email soon.

Anyway, 10psi will net roughly 230whp on a B15 when tuned.

Go onto SR20forum.com and do some searching. Then when you know what parts you want to use, look in the classifieds section for turbo parts. Using as many OEM Nissan pieces as you can will make it all more easier. Get a turbo with a manifold attached to it for around $600-800 depending on what turbo it is. I would go with a T28 setup and get some 440cc injectors to match. Dont kid yourself, wait a little longer, spend maybe a little more and get the T28 setup. You will thank yourself later. I dont know what your options are with a tuned ECU, but that it the way youre going to want to go. If you cant do a tuned ECU, then Emanage is the best way to go, you just have to have some idea of what you are doing and a laptop. Of course, there are lots of other things you'll need. Plus you'll have fun finding out what US aftermarket companies products you'll need to make all the JDM turbo stuff work with your US car. For the most part the install is straightforward, but little things will create roadblocks. Thats when the specialty parts come into play. It depends on your setup. I can help you, PM me.

We have both a write up and parts list that covers everything that should be needed. I wrote them myself, if there's anything you think should be added, let me or RED know via email.

Believe it or not, there is a good amount of information here on this subject, referencing SR20forum is unnecessary, despite the incredible wealth of expertise there. Furthermore, B15 info is somewhat limited over there. The aforementioned articles were written specifically from a B15 perspective, though mention differences so as to be applied to B13/14s.
